ACC has:
8. Duke
12 Florida State
18 VaTech
21 California
22 Stanford (tied with Michigan)
33 Notre Dame (would have received enough votes to rank #33 if they extended that far)
No other ACC schools received votes, not even Clemson which was in the NCAA tournament last year.

Softball starts tomorrow Thursday
Stanford has three pitchers. It appears # 1 will be a Frosh, # 2 a Soph, both highly recruited
# 3 a Sr
We will have very good hitting very good defense. We have a great Frosh class 2 could start despite all our returnees

IMO Stanford's best pitcher by far is freshman Zoe Prystajko. I hope she pitches tomorrow.

Freshman Sydney Boulaphinh looks like she has skill with the bat to possibly get into the lineup or at least come in as a pinch hitter.
The weather forecast I'm looking at indicates 40% chance of rain this evening. Hope the game can be played.
Here in Orange County they have been predicting rain from Tuesday through Friday. It hasn't rained yet at my house.

Offense is potent through 1 game. Game could/should have been more lopsided if Card didn't strand 11 on base.
Stanford will need all the offense it can produce, given limited number of arms in the circle.

Pitching is shaky. Zoe P who is supposed to be our future ace was not good in her debut. Given the level of competition this weekend, I'm very worried about our pitching in conference play.

I agree. Prystajko debut was not the greatest. I’m hoping it was just nerves

The good news is, especially with who we face in conference, the conference slate in the ACC is simply weaker than prior years in the Pac. I think it is also much more conducive to winning via home run derby ball. I think, more than anything, we need a healthy rotation. I wonder if Bobk knows who the #4 pitcher is if/when we need that arm.
However, that roadtrip to Tucson for a non-conference tournament against Arizona and Texas, among other teams, could be really rough. I will be thrilled if we get 2 games from that tourney.

It took 4 pitches to get her first HR and it was her only appearance, one at bat this weekend.
