Why me :). I want to be wrong. Plus I generally pick low. Better to be happily “surprised”.

Brebbia starting the 10th with the inherited runner (horseshit).
Alvarez, three outside changeups, one strikeout. Now the Giants' turn.
Dubon is like a puppy. Does some good things. Likeable. But every once in a while he drops a turd on the carpet….

A teammate of mine who has season tix last night said that by the trading deadline Dubon will be the player to be named later.

He's 27. Too old to be doing stupid things on the basepaths.

Dubon won’t last to the Deadline. They go to 26 May 2. And at some point LaStella comes back. I think. Luke Williams can do defensively what Dubon does. Williams has better speed. Neither is going to wow you with their bat. I think Williams beats him out.
5 hits and 14 Ks today. 6th through 8th Giants sent up 11 batters. 1 hit. 1 walk. 8 Ks. Pathetic.

Could be. Haven't seen Williams in center. Does he have options left? Dubon doesn't. He could have done what 6 through 8 did...or better.

I love Felipe’s reaction. Would have ended game. I do think Giants ended up winning in xtras.

I believe Williams has options. That may save Dubon for awhile. Right now they are at 15 pitchers. 13 regulars. Probably go 13-13. Although maybe 14-12 given DH. La Stella if he’s ever healthy will take a spot. As will Longoria. So, his days are probably numbered. No way he beats out Estrada.

Totally agree re Estrada. A future star methinks. Since it's the giants, we know there will be other injuries and Dubon can play several positions. When is Wade to return?

Don’t know on Wade. They said nothing structural. But Im always skeptical of reports relating to knee injuries. I would not be surprised if it’s worse than they are saying.

Quick reminder, Lex.
As of May 2, you can have a maximum of 13 pitchers on the roster…..

Heliot Ramos is being promoted and will play on Sunday. More RH power? Check.

Perhaps, but he hit four home runs in 219 at-bats in AAA last year. His slugging percentage was .399.

Initially, I would expect him to platoon, playing v. LH pitching (Miami is starting a lefty tomorrow).

Miami has a very strong pitcher today, Trevor Rogers. 7-8 in 25 starts last year, but with a 2.64 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Power pitcher, struck out 157 in 133 innings. He was an All Star and finished #2 in RoY voting. Could be a longgggg day for the local nine.

Wondering who goes down. The way the Giants do things, I suppose it could be Brebbia as he’s pitched back to back. But I think he’d have to stay down 10 (15?) days. And after all he’s been through with TJ and the bad year last year, I think it’s a bad idea to send him down just as he appears to be rounding into form
Williams has options. He’s possible.
Long has options. He may be the most likely.
But I’m thinking time to cut Dubon loose. It is going to happen May 2 anyway. Williams can play the Swiss Army Knife role. That also opens a spot on the 40. Luis Gonzalez is someone that has opened eyes. He could be elevated.
Edit: And the answer is - Brebbia to bereavement list. 3 game minimum. 7 game maximum.

For those who don't know Babe Herman was one of three Dodger runners on base one day at Ebbets. Problem was that all three ended up at third. Herman had tried to stretch a double into a triple but he always ran with his head down. The third baseman tagged all three and the ump ruled Babe and a teammate out.
From it came the fan phrase, "Hey the Dodgers have three men on base."
Retort, "Yeah, but which base?"
And Lex, you have 78 wins to go and then you are banned from watching any more Giants games.

Funny one! I remember reading a baseball book when I was a kid titled "Three Men on Third". It wasn't the 2000 book by H. Allen Smith about that incident (and many others), though. The title referred to some fictional incident that happened near the end of the book.
It was this book:

When you don’t hit, you have to play well defensively. Giants aren’t.

Giants top pitching prospect Kyle Harrison from De La Salle goes 4 with 7 K’s and two hits for Eugene (High A). He’s 20 and hopefully promoted to Flying Squirrels (AA) during 2022 with a chance to be in SF in 2024.
Pomares and Bailey have homered. Season two games old and Corry yet to pitch.

Giants are tied for second most errors in MLB with four errors in four games. Doesn't even include questionable decisions or plays in which an error might have been awarded by the official scorer. They look terrible in the field right now.

Bailey has two HRs in 7 ABs, Luciano has 2 HRs in 9 ABs. Casey Schmitt has an HR and a double in 7 ABs. Hunter Bishop, 0 for 9, Jimmy Glowenke, 0 for 7. The team has 5 HRs in two games. On the pitching front, the Emeralds have given up 11 earned runs and 14 total runs in their two losses. Starter Randy Rodriguez has an interesting line: 0.00 ERA, but has given up two runs and a home run. Team WHIP is 1.625 which is not so good.

You're right, the Giants won 4-3 in 13 innings.

Interesting thing about Rivera...as you might imagine, that was the end of his career in MLB. He was 29 years old. He ended up playing in Mexico until he was 45 years old. He only retired in 2019, playing 16 seasons in Mexico, roughly AAA level ball. He played for nine separate teams in several leagues in Mexico, so maybe he irritated those teams as much as he clearly irritated Felipe Alou.
