The chartered Saab 2000 is in a 30 passenger configuration (which is why it looks more spacious in the videos).

Well, it is a charter at least. It is slow compared to a 737. It can't fly above 31,000 feet, so it may have to fly around rather than over some weather. It will have to stop for fuel once along the way. It is noisy and vibrates a bit. Other than that, what's not to like.

Their refueling stop was Hays, KS.

Florida flew in tonight, on the same charter plane as us. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N516FR/history/20241211/0030Z/KGNV/KSDF

A couple notes from the newsletter:

We hit a combined .467 in the two matches, the highest percentage by any team in the nation through the first two rounds.

Miner is the Pacific region player of the year.

Harvey, Francis, Oglive, and Rubin join her.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - SkiBum80 - 12-12-2024

Good start for us
But then Fla went on a run assisted by our bad 1st pass and subsequent bad sets.

Tips are not working. Gotta try something else.

Edit: if anything passing has gotten worse.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - SkiBum80 - 12-12-2024

Characteristic of when we are not at our best: way too many bail outs on spikes to try dinks instead. That fool noone and are easily handled by opponent.

As Captain Obvious might say:  bad first pass leads to bad rest of play and losing the point.  good first pass probably leads to winning the point.

A few good plays from us, a few mistakes from them, and we're tied at 21. Time out.

Hu.ge winning challenge by Hambly
Then Miner serves into the net to give it back

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - mbdude - 12-12-2024

drop 1st set.
2 critical service errors

Hieronymus - Hieronymus - 12-12-2024

Gave that set away. Hard to win giving up a 7 point run. Passing went way off second half of the set.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - SkiBum80 - 12-12-2024

We lose 1st set 26-24
Not a good time or place to be slightly off game
Need some red bulls or red vines or something at the break

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 12-12-2024

Miner is fairly off target so far even with a good pass

Yeah, slam it into the block and eat the ball when it comes back into your face.

Kurt on fire

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - mbdude - 12-12-2024

rubin not, hitting .000. 6 kills, 6 errors

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 12-12-2024

Heck of a salvage by Sami there.

Passing better this set, but it’s all still kinda outta sync.

And mediocre is still good enough to win set 2 25-17. Just have to be solid the rest of the way to win this.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 12-12-2024

And the start to set 3 is woefully short of solid. 5-2 Florida so far.
