What makes you say that, the fact the Giants aren't even listed on the table of possible buyers?
One data point from that analysis that is obvious but also paradoxical. Everyone thinks expanding the playoffs increases the number of teams that can win it all. While this is true, the reality is the expanded playoffs mean you have to be an even better team than previous WC entries to go further because there are more teams to beat and more games to play.
Eduardo Perez on the Sunday Night broadcast said the Mariners probably don't go out and get Castillo if the Wild Card was just one game, but the fact it is a 3-game series means you need more elite starting pitching to advance.
Giants fans like to talk about 2014 as a reason they should stand pat to "get it and see what happens," but they fail to realize they only had to win 1 WC game in 2014. Does anyone think they would have beat the Pirates 2/3 games in Pittsburgh that year?
The Giants do have Webb and Rodon as top of rotation studs, but the bullpen is not good enough, the defense is awful, and they don't have any star offensive players. We saw in the NLDS last year that you need some offensive stars to win and this year they have even less star power.
Farhan and co. have to realize the teams already better than them are going to make moves to get better. So even standing pat is falling further behind the teams you must pass and a reason to trade everything that isn't nailed to the floor.

You don’t think Zaidi knows that? Of course he does. All depends on what he’s offered for Rodon. Personally I think it’s better than 50/50 he makes a deal for Rodon. But if the price isn’t right, they will allow him to opt out, make a qualifying offer and when he turns it down and leaves via FA take the Compensation pick. Not what I’m hoping for. But Zaidi won’t give him away. It’s going to take an attractive offer.

Whatever happens, it isn’t about this year. It is all about future seasons. The die is cast for this season.
Trading Rodon and/or Peterson for proven talent who can play defense (as Lex noted in a earlier post, quality defense will become more critical next year when significant shifting is banned) is the order of the day.

It's usually not uncommon for players to move who weren't expected to move. Case in point:

So I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants move Wilmer Flores. He's without doubt their best offensive player, but he's on an expiring contract. He can be a great DH option and can play several IF positions in a pinch. Would love to see the Giants trade him back to the Mets where he is adored by the fans.

One possibility that has been written about is trade players off the current 25 man roster for solid prospects, then flip those prospects along with some supplemental talent (not named Harrison/Luciano/Webb) to Washington for Soto.
I put the odds of that happened at 1 in 50. I think Soto winds up in San Diego.

Switch to “and player to be determined”. It could still be Hosmer once they throw some money at him to waive the no trade clause in his contract. Or he could just play hardball and stay in SD.
Update: …or he could be sent somewhere else. Yep, Hosmer sent to Red Sox with Padres paying a portion of his remaining contract.

Well, I do know a bit.
After Maranzano was killed by Mad Dog Cole (set up by Charlie Lucky) Mr. Luciano was able to talk his "associates" into forming The Commission as a nation wide crime syndicate. He created the Five Families and headed his own (also was The Boss of all Bosses). Deported to Italy for illegal activities he did aid the US Government during WW2. His family became known as the Genovese Family.
