Anybody given an opportunity to get a fully-paid Stanford education who chooses to go to Arkansas deserves to go to Arkansas.

Adams: Stanford. "Even with his sister at Arkansas, nothing has occurred down the stretch to make me think Thomas goes anywhere but Stanford. He has worked hard in the classroom to be admitted into Stanford, a program that offers an academics/athletic combination that is tough for any school to beat."
Bartow: Stanford. I think Stanford has been the leader here for the last for or five months. Academics is big with him and no place has a better combination of football and academics than Stanford. Arkansas made a big push and finished second.
Shurburtt: Stanford. The Cardinal remain my pick here because theyve been the strongest the longest. That being said, Arkansas has put up a real fight. Thomas sister is in Fayetteville and there are other family connections. If I get more information that points toward the Hogs, I could easily switch this between now and deadline on Wednesday.
Simmons: Stanford. Ive felt for a while that it was a matter of time before Thomas picked The Cardinal. With his recruiting coach Mike Sanford gone and his potential defensive coordinator Derek Mason off to Vanderbilt, does that change the game for Stanford? I dont think it does. Academics are important to Thomas and I think hes Palo Alto bound.

Maybe, but spending all that effort to put himself in a position to get accepted seems like he isn't one to make a rash decision without thinking it through.
He is announcing on ESPN on Wednesday, no sense ruining the suspense.

Somebody here pointed out that Thomas's mother favorited Fleener's blog post about Stanford. She's the one that has to sign not the LOI, not Thomas's girlfriend.

If Thomas wants to turn down Stanford for a SEC cellar dweller, then he must literally be mad with love. I could understand Bama or aTm. But Arkansas?

Meh A&M isn't having any different success than we had 2 or 3 years ago. We owned them before that...things change. I get your point with Bama though but he doesn't have the proximity to home or family connections there

I think the issue that I have with being skeptical of him choosing Arkansas is that Stanford traditionally only loses recruits to a local program. It recruits nationally and when someone turns that down, it is usually to go to a big name in-state program (Nelson in Iowa and Spain in NC come to mind).
That said, the undergraduate population is full of students who leave behind serious GF/BFs to get the advantages that Stanford offers. After all the academic work that Thomas has put in, I don't think he is going to give that up.
Wouldn't want to explain to my mom that a girl was the overriding decision.

Yeah iirc he would only be the 2nd out of state 5* that we've gotten in the last 15 years...and the other one happened last year. Our state only produces like 5 D1 football players a year so its a pretty big deal for us lol
Im not getting my hopes up though because the last time i did, Dorial Green-Beckham happened
Regardless, im not going to be upset either way because i can't blame him for wanting a free education from Stanford.

He pulled out a tree (small one) and put on nerdnation glasses! ;D
