LSJU crushes Wake on the Academic AA team. We have Cobb (3.87, MSE), Graham (3.58, STS) and Park (3.68, MSE). Wake has only Lowder (Econ, 3.5).

Yes, this Wake team is very good but let’s not make them out to be the ‘27 Yankees. Lowder isn’t even in the top half of aces on this side of the bracket. Skenes from LSU is widely projected to be the #2 pick and Dollander from Tennessee could get selected above Lowder, too. Obviously, it goes without saying that Lowder also doesn’t hold a candle to the one, the only, the truly incomparable Quinn Mathews. Lowder hasn’t even thrown 150 pitches in a game all season. Total lightweight.
It’s baseball. Most games are essentially coin flips. Give me the guys who won’t be wowed by the bright lights because they’ve already been there twice before and clearly have destiny on their side.

Disagree with both strikeouts.
Surprised that Mathews is not going today, but understand that they want to give him an extra day of rest. If we win, it will be a genius move.

We are actually ahead 1-0 at the end of the first.
Pleasant surprise.
Still ahead 2-1 in the 4th.
We have already exceeded Wake Forest's ace pitchers ERA (at least I assume both runs were earned).

He should have sent Moore in on Becerra's hit. The right fielder needed to make a precise throw to get him out. The pickoff at first ruined everything else.
Top of the order. We need to start putting some distance. 2 runs won't win this game.
