Athough Mills more optimistic....
On helping recruit: Im helping with a couple of guys. I was recruiting Walker Little hard and now we are both recruiting Foster Sarell. Its looking good right now, no promises but its looking good.

One nice thing about Little and Sarell is that they are both versatile. In the Army all-America practices, Little has played both tackle spots, while Sarell has played at both Guard and Tackle.
I suspect they will somehow be accomodated in the field. BTW, Little is still 17.

It certainly helps to have other 5 star recruits like Mills say he passed on home state Georgia and neighboring Alabama for Stanford... Little say he passed on home state Texas for Stanford...Parkinson say he passed on USC and UCLA for Stanford, when they are making the case for why Sarell should pass on Washington for Stanford.

The four "experts" analyzed the decision based on their own criteria but offered no inside information or publicly known facts to support their opinions.

I think it's a coin flip at this stage of the game. Wouldn't surprise me either way. What would surprise me is if he picked someone other than Stanford or Washington.
What bothers me a little is if you look at Sarell's blackboard of goals there is not one that has anything to do with academics.
I know he has mentioned academics are important, but.....
His major goal seems to be getting to the NFL. Does Stanford offer him a better opportunity to do that than Washington? I know we Cardboarders think it does, but I wonder about him.

Washington is mostly a pro-style-ish offense, right? They're definitely not spread. In terms of preparing linemen for the NFL it seems the #1 thing you want is "for the love of god not a spread offense". It seems like those guys don't learn any technique and flame out, though they still get drafted high so maybe it doesn't matter so much.

Since the last prediction for Sarell to UW on 12/18, 10 consecutive predictions have pegged him to Stanford.
Of course, only one opinion matters (though mom's sometimes does too).

Another positive sign. Sarell posing for a picture with the other Stanford recruits for a dinner at the All America game. Hard to believe that he would have done that if he had chosen Washington (although, who knows, maybe he did the same thing with the Washington recruits).

I think our success with Peat and Murphy really helps here and provides a nice roadmap we can present Little and Sarrell. I am sure our recruiting rivals are pointing out that both of them can't start at left tackle at the same time, but we can counter with the fact that Peat and Murphy were both recruited the same year, both got to start multiple years as tackles, and both got drafted by the NFL. Our pipeline of offensive linemen to the NFL really has been phenomenal the last few years.

Sarell named the 2017 U.S. Army All American Bowl Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year.
Solomon Thomas won the same in 2014.

Watching the All-american bowl, and of course the new USC commit Bubba Bolden jumps the line on defense and kicks the field goal from the place kicker in a game where they aren't supposed to rush punts/field goals. Seems like a perfect fit for the tr*jans.
