Shaw said this week that, if he had to wager, he would bet on an incoming class size of 17-18 players (the available scholarships are in the low 20s). Given the nine already committed (and assuming no decommits), that leaves 8-9 remaining players. Best guesses?

Here are mine: Buncom, Scarlett, Donelly, Edwards, Meeks, Abercrumbia, Saint-Amour, Fox, Maihen. 

This leaves some big misses: Green, Wilkins, Warren, Brown, Irwin

Fox isn't being recruited anymore and I think we're still in a good position for Wilkins, Irwin, & Warren.

Starting after the commits, this seems to be the best case scenario:

10. CB Buncom (4 star)
11. RB Scarlett (4 star)
12. DT Donnelly (3 star)/Abercrumbia (3 star)
13. DB Edwards (4 star)
14. CB Meeks (4 star)
15. WR Irwin (4 star)
16. DE Saint-Amour (3 star)/Green (5 star)
17. DL Wilkins (4 star)
18. OL Maihen (3 star)

I wonder if the 17-18 is a matter of spots available now or guys who will be admit-worthy and want to come?  Moreover, might more spots open before signing day?

Other possibilities:  Honestly, of all the top guys I don't see anyone else other than maybe RB Bryce Love (4 star) as a possibility now, and then maybe LB Brinson (3 star)?

Sure seems like it and ND/SC seem to have recruited over him, I.E. Holding out for better prospects. He hasn't put up great numbers either. Could definitely end up at Utah. Maybe UCLA takes him though.

The kid goes to Servite in Anaheim. What's the pull of Utah in this situation?

Is this a Fox situation where we've stopped recruiting? Or have we resigned that he's just not going to listen to his mother and her desires about his future security?

Funny story: I grew up in San Diego, where my dad's a professor at UCSD. He had an opportunity in the early 2000s for a responsibility, pay raise at the the University of Utah. When he brought the idea to my mom, she told him: "You can definitely move to SLC. Your wife and your children will be in San Diego, but why should that stop you?" There have been no conversations about moving since.

He took an official visit to Utah recently. Considering our need for WRs I'm sure we'd take him in a heart beat.

Stanford has a new DT commit - Wesley Annan, 6'3", 280 lbs from Lake Forest, IL.  Offered last night, accepted today.

Two of Plans A (Green), B (Wilkins), and C (Donnelly) must not be in the pipeline with Annan's offer and commit.  DT is the most critical need in this class.

Green, Wilkins, Donnelly, and Abercrumbia are still possibilities, yes?

Annan has great size.  Looks like he could grow into being a big NT.  The fact he's got offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State, as well as a mess of Ivies, suggests an ideal Stanford DL commit.

Green doesn't have an application so he's probably out. I'm still hopeful for Wilkins and Donelly.

Annan is ranked comparably to Donelly on all sites except ESPN.  About 5 slots behind on Scout and 247, a couple of slots ahead on Rivals.  ESPN has Donelly way ahead.  With the lack of depth at NT, Stanford can use both of them, even if Wilkins decides to come too.

According to Drukarev, we received a commitment from Utah FB Houston Heimuli. Word is that he had been a heavy Stanford lean for a while. He is LDS so is effectively a class of 2017 recruit. The highlight tape below shows he is a powerful downhill runner with good balance, an aggressive blocker, and has good hands on short passes. I like!
