Seems Lee is out: https://twitter.com/BlueDevilLair/status/424268875833032704

Re: Class of 2014 - Hey - 01-17-2014

Although, if Alexander didn't get into Stanford, Mason has a fantastic segue opportunity.  "Bummer about Stanford.... by the way, there's this outstanding academic institution in the SEC..."

Noting that Perez was admitted - Redrum - 01-18-2014

Which is very good news.  Stanford plays a 3-4 for several reasons.  One of them is it is generally easier to get difference-making linebackers than staff a full 4-man D-line (with backups, too).  Perez, Okereke and Alfieri a very good core group.  I will continue, with limited skills, to seek out the video of the Stanford football camp where Perez won an offer by beating and even pushing around the camping OL that were blocking down on him in 1 on 1 drills.  A lot of time you can't really discern speed differences in actual contact drills.  You could with Perez, who consistently got low and made contact faster than the bigger guys were prepared for.

Am worried about loss of Tucker. He will be fine.  We are on dangerously low on safeties, even with Dallas Lloyd switching.

Putting a curfew on my Perez-crush - Redrum - 01-18-2014

Thanks.  I'll add the full drill.  Note:  This was a lineman-on-lineman drill.  Perez was the only non-lineman in the bunch.  He was giving away 50 lbs. and 3-4" of height to every opponent.  The beautiful one was when he drove back #71, guard Ross Pierschbacher (ranked #4 in the nation and a Bama commit).  Pierschbacher  got even a while later, but in the drill as a whole Perez out-quicked or held his ground against guys who should have been pounding him like tent stake.  Bodes well for our LB corps.

Re: Class of 2014 - martyup - 01-19-2014

Man, he looks tiny in those drills.  ESPN says he's 6'1" and 210 lbs.  That's small for a LB, but he uses his leverage well.  It will be fun to follow him through his Stanford career.

Re: Class of 2014 - OutsiderFan - 01-19-2014

Rivals reporter posted that Lealao committed to Cal today, so it seems safe to say he was in fact denied by admissions.

Re: Class of 2014 - Bruce Wang - 01-20-2014

Solomon Thomas has eliminated Ohio State and Texas.  Down to Arkansas?, UCLA, and us.  Ball is in Richard Shaw's court now.

R. Shaw returned serve a while ago -- Thomas is admitted.

Re: Class of 2014 - Bruce Wang - 01-21-2014

Dammit I knew that.  :-[  Just Montag paranoia this time of year.

I was worried about Texas (home team, new exciting coach) and even Ohio State (contender, legendary coach, better academics than people think).  Now that those have been eliminated, why hasn't he committed?

Re: Class of 2014 - yvonne - 01-21-2014

His sister goes to Arkansas. UCLA is expected to do really well this year. They have a lot of returning players.

Re: Class of 2014 - yvonne - 01-21-2014

Nifae retweeted this yesterday, so I guess it's fair to say that he hasn't committed elsewhere, at least not yet.

444 dang haha your a celebrity now! I'm glad we met and are friends now I expect the front row seats next year while you play for Stanford 😄

Re: Class of 2014 - stanfan - 01-22-2014

Alexander admitted per the Bootleg Board

Re: Class of 2014 - PrinceLightfoot - 01-22-2014

Veach also admitted.

Re: Class of 2014 - yvonne - 01-22-2014

Nifae today tweeted that he "decommitted from Stanford," and that he "just wanted to go somewhere different." Kal is considered the favorite, but Vandy also has offered.

Re: Class of 2014 - yvonne - 01-23-2014

He's now considering cal, Oregon State, Utah, and Vanderbilt.

Judging by his tweets, (@NEE_Fee_ZEE), I'd say he's not staying in conference.

Re: Class of 2014 - yvonne - 01-23-2014

Justin Hopkins (247sports) just tweeted that Casey Tucker has committed.

Re: Class of 2014 - PrinceLightfoot - 01-23-2014

Confirmed from Tucker's own Tweet.

Woo hoo!  Nice win.  Now let's finish it with Thomas, Burkett, and Alexander.

Solomon Thomas discusses his recruiting. He put a LOT of working into getting admitted.
