Sarrell was quoted as saying the outcome of Washington Stanford game would have no impact on his decision.

Agree that is likely what he & others are told.  For three good reasons:  confirm physical readiness, confirm mental readiness, & come in with mentality of competing & striving.

From the cheap seats, I'd say Shaw is more reluctant than most to play freshman (and, for that matter, to make personnel changes when players aren't performing well).  Seems like a freshman needs to be a near-phenom -- and significantly better than the next best upper classman -- to see meaningful game time.  Think Herbig.  We shall see.  Either way, what a great addition to the 2017 class!

Shaw did play peat, garnett, and murphy as freshman at the same time.  So i would definitely expect significant action from little even if he is not starting

I continue to be puzzled by the idea that Shaw is reluctant to play freshmen. Is there any data on this? Stanford's seen many true freshman play significant roles:

2016: Herbig
2015: Meeks, Love
2014: McCaffrey
2013: [not sure]
2012: Carter, Peat, Murphy
2011: Richards, Montgomery

So there are plenty of freshman who play at Stanford. Is this more...less... than other schools. I've got no idea! But we know plenty of freshmen play.

Next year I would expect a pretty decent number of Lund, St. Brown, Little, Parkinson, and (if they come) Wedington and Sarrel to play, and play a significant role.

Hey, you never know. The fact that Washington has seemingly morphed from a conference also ran to a conference power under Petersen's tutelage quite possibly could affect Sarrell's decision. If there is one thing consistent about a recruit's selection of a school it is that he always wants to go play for a winner.
