It seems Lee is out of the running. Stanford looks more focused on 2015 WRs.Â
Leaitaua would make the class 22, assuming all the visitors this weekend commit to Stanford. That seems about the right size to me, but that assumes a 100% conversion rate on "the big four" + Burkett and Leaitua, which would be pretty incredible.

Isn't Leaitua LDS, and planning on doing his mission? That always creates that gray area, in which a player is both part of the class, and kind of part of the class two years down the line. ( speaking of which, maybe we should keep in mind that Brandon Fanaika arrives this year, assuming that he follows through on his commitment, and Sean Barton can already be factored into next year's class, with the same caveat.)

With Lee out of the picture, does anyone expect they may offer Louis Vecchio instead of pushing the preferred walk-on option? This may be an option after Dalton Schultz makes his decision just to secure one more receiver type in this class.

Last week I heard Colin Cowherd interview Colorado State HC Jim McElwain (who he went to school with at Eastern Washington). McElwain has a very good coaching resume and quite impressed me as a guy who knows how to evaluate talent. Colorado State has offered Vecchio, so I looked at Vecchio's hudl video. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1608767/highlights/36509396
Though not an explosive athlete, he seems to have the toughness Stanford covets and could be a guy who can grow into a blocking TE or DL as he looks like he's got the body type to add weight. So if Vecchio has an offer from Colorado State and Boise State, and he's been admitted (per the admitted players thread), he might be worth a scholarship if that's what it takes to get him.

The six running backs listed are all about 6'1" and 195 pounds. Our main running backs (Gerhardt, Taylor, Gaffney) were all 215+.
Who will we use to pound the rock?
(Kyle Murphy has been called the best athlete on the team. He's been bulking up.)
