That's because back then he was our (Stanford's) Jim Harbaugh and were recruiting against them. Now that he is their (Michigan's) Jim Harbaugh and are recruiting for them, he is welcomed with open arms and a king's ransom.

Wow! Wouldn't it be cool if we had an alum who played under a legendary coach come back and lead our team to a couple of Rose Bowls, maybe even win one. That would be so cool! I'm sure alumni would just eat that up. #underappreciated

I currently spend a lot of time in Ann Arbor and I'm looking forward to the Monday morning drive into work to hear what the guys on WTKA have to say about the whole Harbaugh back to Michigan thing.
Harbaugh took a shoot at UMich when he was at Stanford saying the academics that Stanford offers are superior.

My guess is they had a Dan Gilbert - LeBron James moment.

I'm not sure what his status would have been at Florida, so the move makes sense.

While we are reviewing lovely quotations denigrating hypocrisy, let me note that I don't think it is the most serious vice out there, and we all have a bit of it from time to time. I certainly confess.
For example, I am very worried about what football does to men's heads - and very unhappy about what big time college football does to universities' integrity and (for most) financial situation. Nonetheless, I am a h--- fan of the game and spend far too much time on this board and watching Stanford games.
I think that makes me a hypocrite.

The worm will turn. Just wait until they suffer a couple of bad losses under Harbaugh. He might get Pelinied.

I don't think that's a sign of hypocrisy, I think it's a sign of being rightfully worried about what could happen to something you enjoy being a part of. The people who aren't concerned at all about those things aren't paying enough attention.
