Barbour left the door open:

Although we are passing on this particular opportunity, we remain open to looking at the right set of circumstances in the future — as long as they are consistent with the values and principles that informed this specific decision."

Here's the translation:

"I got too much crap from the alumni about moving the 2014 Big Game out of Berkeley, so I caved in to the pressure. But I think I might be able to get away with it if the Big Game is moved to Santa Clara in a year Stanford was supposed to host it. I realize that in the long run, it works out the same, but I think I can fool my alumni into not realizing that. So I'm going to start working on moving the 2015 Big Game to Santa Clara."

If there's a proposal to play in the Niners' stadium in 2015, then Stanford in 2016, etc., I'll bet bare fans scream even louder. The theory will be that the game in Santa Clara will practically be a home game for Stanford, and then Stanford will get another home game in 2016!! Outrage!!!

Exactly.  So who do I write to to encourage Stanford to push hard for it?  I would LOVE to have back to back seasons of South Bay Big Games.
