Any HS QB who signs this year.... - JohnR34231 - 01-27-2012

............better have Andrew Luck type ability or he will be on the pines for a very long time.

And then there's that little insignificant thingee.. - Redrum - 01-27-2012

Oh, yeah.  The application.  With only six days left to LOI day it would be some feat to go from a standing start to acceptance by Montag.

Anyway,  FWLIW,  on the other site a recruit guru was quoted that Lloyd was the best dual-threat  HS QB he'd ever seen.  Maybe that's your world view if you've never left Orem, Utah...or maybe Lloyd's the Second Truth.

Didn't Winston say he doesn't plan on signing on LOI day? That would give him extra time if he did want to fill out an application.

I wonder if Shaw plans on holding a scholarship open for him? Don't think he's given  us enough positives to make that a good bet.

I haven't heard ONE word from Jameis - Redrum - 01-27-2012

that he's the kind of kid who really wants to come to Stanford and be even a just-getting-by student.  Stanford football and baseball will survive without him.  For sure the university will survive without him.  Let him be FSU's problem,  or phenomenal dual-sport athlete...whichever comes first.

How much extra time do athletes get to fill out an application? Last I heard, Stanford's deadline for regular admissions was mid-December. Can a football player really decide to apply in February and get the time of day from the admissions office?  :o

Well, if he's a five star recruit and in the top two or three in the nation at his position, I hope he can.

When do Murphy, Shittu, and Peat announce? Signing day?

Yes, all are scheduled right now to announce on signing day. I think Shittu and Peat are both scheduled to make their announcements on ESPNU.  I'm not sure if Murphy has the same arrangement, but I have read a newspaper account that he is planning to make his announcement on signing day.

Anyone with the Rivals Insider Pass want to comment on this one?

Re: another bit of recruiting info... - Rando - 01-27-2012

Tylor Harris is rated as a 2 star DE prospect. Apparently he also plays TE in high school. 6'4 250lbs.

Wonder how much room we have for another D-lineman.

Re: another bit of recruiting info... - socalstanfan1 - 01-27-2012

Maybe good to think of Harris as a "jumbo athlete": someone who could develop on either line, or prhaps as a TE
