I read about so many teams having spring exhibition matches. Will Stanford have any scrimmages open to the public?

I happened to see Coach Hambly after today's Stanford v. Cal Poly beach match; we were both leaving. I said hello, and he said something like "That was exciting", and I agreed. We exchanged a few more pleasantries, and then I went ahead and asked him, "Will there be any open practices this Spring?", and he said "No. No scrimmages. We're just doing our thing." Which is what I expected.

Finally! Great news. I was worried about Tessa committing somewhere else.

Great news. Should be a season with high expectations for women's volleyball. Can't wait.

I like that they featured Jordyn Harvey in the match announcement. I hope Parks has it figured out for setting to start the season. I would imagine Whitney Bower is working with Parks every day on technique and strategy.

A WVB player who just transferred to Texas Tech has an Instagram picture of herself flexing hundred dollar bills. I don't know what that means but it's not something I would do.

$19,000 for WVB. Is that going to move the needle when the WVB powerhouses are offering elite players full athletic scholarship plus $300K to $400K per year?

That’s additional to what the school pays under the new rules.
Which also won’t move the needle
However recruiting is great

The 2028 prospects I heard about are MB McKenzie Andrews and French setter Paloma Havas. Those two along with an elite DS would be an excellent class. BTW, Paloma will start day one over the upperclassmen setters.

Parks would be a senior by then (I think). If she sees the writing on the wall, I would think she would graduate in 3 years and enter the portal for her senior year.
One thing we really need is a true OH1. The difference between the national titles in the 2016-2019 period and the recent run of crashing out in the Elite Eight is the absence of a Kathryn Plummer. Kipp and Rubin were outstanding players for us, but not quite at the same level (then again, few are).

Yes Parks will be a Sr when Havas a Frosh. However possible Parks graduates in three years WVB doesn’t practice until about Aug 1 so almost certainly Parks won’t be and hast been talking the summer qtr

KP? Quite a challenge. A generational talent.

I'll take anyone at the level of ogonna namanni, Kristin Richards, Logan Tom, Cynthia Barboza, Jordan Burgess, in addition to KP. We've had a lot of great OH over the past 25 years and our current ones are below our median during that time.

I’m going to enjoy my summer. But the one Stanford team I’m probably most looking forward to watching next season is Stanford volleyball.
