No, same starters
Yeah, I thought so. ESPN is showing Emma-Nnopu as a starter.
ESPN also shows the attendance was... 1. I know that folks on this board have been anxious to go see games again at Maples - which one of you broke in?!

Anna Wilson picked as one of the best perimeter defensive players in the country by ESPN:

Two other Pac-12 players: Michaela Onyenwere of UCLA (post) and Arizona's Aari McDonald (perimeter) also chosen

We are also back in the top 5 in this week's AP rankings at #5.
UCLA dropped from 5 to 8 after their loss to WSU
South Carolina and UConn are 1 and 2, ahead of their matchup tonight. Louisville drops to #3 and NC State stays at #4 with their win over Louisville and their loss against UNC canceling each other out.
Arizona and Oregon are 10 and 11, respectively, going into their game today. Incidentally, those two teams will be our Monday evening opponents the next two weeks, both on ESPN/ESPN2. Hopefully, we will be able to shine on national tv. It's nice that the Pac-12 will have a round robin of sorts between 3 of the top 4 teams in the conference for the next 3 Mondays for a wider audience to watch.

If we are going to have a chance at a national championship, let alone a Pac 12 championship, we need to start rolling. The game against Utah was a great start--but it is only a start. We need to string together many such convincing victories to build the confidence of our young players and shake the confidence of opponents. Let's hope we do it on national TV a couple of times, too.
In reflecting on this last weekend's games, it is not just that Colorado was a better team than Utah--it is hard to argue that Colorado is a great team given its record. It is that we matched up much better against Utah than we did against Colorado. Well, a whole bunch of teams that look more like Colorado than they do like Utah are coming our way. I'd love to see a 40 point blowout of some of them. That would certainly increase MY confidence!

We are #2 in the Net rankings. Seems we are doing something right having beaten the 5,10, 15 teams.
First question is will be play Oregon State or can they play. They have played well after their first Covid days off now back on Covid pause.
Then it’s national Tv vs Oregon

81alum, I want to see this team show some grit in grinding out a win over a tough opponent. Win games that are close in the 4th quarter where we see players step up and the team execute well when the pressure is on. That will increase my confidence that they are ready for the P12 and NCAA tournaments.
I know that the team is capable of this type of performance. They ground out wins over UCLA and Oregon earlier in the season. But with the exception of the Colorado game, every victory over the last month has been by at least 22 points. Stanford lost the close ones at Colorado and vs. UCLA and looked tired and a bit out of sorts late in each game. Colorado and UCLA executed better. The team needs to have the muscle memory of performing well under pressure in a close game.

Why am I always such a worrywort about us playing on national TV? (Maybe because there hasn't been a happy ending since 1992?). So many great teams, great players, and seemingly always just a step short. I don't quite get the feeling we are peaking yet, not really firing on all cylinders.
But yeah, first step is to stay healthy, second step is to win the Pac, hopefully get a #1 seed.

So who do we want tonight?
I like Arizona and UConn

Personally, I'm rooting for Oregon to give us an extra buffer in the race to the title by beating Arizona. Nothing against Aari and Company, but I would like Stanford to be alone at the top.
For the other game? I wish they could both lose. South Carolina hung a banner for last season for being #1 -- but they weren't unanimous. UConn, is well, UConn and while Paige Bueckers has been phenomenal, I think Caitlin Clark is having a better freshman season than Paige Buckets against better competition than what UConn has faced on a nightly basis.

Anytime UConn loses is a good day.
Also, for some reason, I kind of like Dawn Staley.

Arizona absolutely trounced Oregon, definitely a scary game to show what they're capable of.
UConn had a nice little 7 point lead in the 4th against South Carolina, but all but evaporated.
