Not watching the game but I just looked at the box score of the Fiesta Bowl.  tOSU is getting curb stomped.  I guess conference championships should count.

Re: Other games of interest: Bowl season edition - Farm93 - 12-31-2016

Clemson's pitch was pretty much how the play was supposed to work yesterday.  Burns just didn't let the defense get aligned and actually ran the play into their poor alignment.  Oh well.

tOSU is so done.  Now, if this happened to UW, the story would swing to the idea that the Pac-12 was never worthy, etc. etc.

BigTen is just a big loss to SC away from being vulnerable to that type of commentary.    4 in the top 10??  Please!!

At marching-band halftime, what should've dotted the "i" in tOSU's script "Ohio" is a kneeling, sobbing Urban Meyers. What a Buckeye embarrassment.

Until the pac12 wins a championship sometime  (which it has not for the last 10+ Years), i would give the big10 more credit.  i dont see any pac 12 team coming close to bama.  At least osu won a natty in a some what recent time period.

Pac-12 might win too if they ever were given an invite. Remember, until UW destroyed Colorado there was serious talk about letting two BigTen teams into the CFP.  Pretty hard to win it all if the committee doesn't select your conference.  BigTen (not 10 anymore) doesn't exactly have a great record in the Rose Bowl over the last 10+ years.  So, when the Pac gets a chance on the field, they show they are better than the BigTen.

It will be hard for me, but I really do hope SC destroys Penn State.  The idea that the Pac-12 had to almost beg to get its 1 loss champion into the CFP over two other conference champs with two losses and another 2 loss at-large (Michigan) is crazy.  SC destroying the BigTen champ would reset the storyline.

I remember when I was a kid in Wisconsin it always seemed that the Big 10 would always win the Rose Bowl, unless Wisconsin was playing in it. Then once I got to Stanford in 1965, the Pac 8/10 almost always won the Rose Bowl, no matter who was playing in it.

Yeah, Ohio State losing, Meechigan losing, not looking good for the top B1G teams.

Of course, the Pac-12 hasn't looked great; we only have our win against UNC and Utah's win against Indiana.

Did I just see Good Grief on TV?

The Chick Fil A ad with the chicken mascot?  Yes, that is GG.

Woohoo! So happy that commercial has continued to run! They showed it once during our Sun Bowl as well. it was a slow year for new acting gigs, so mighty thankful that some of the old ones continued to run.

My five year old loves the cow (she has a thing for moo moos).

Considering how mad Stanford fans were after CMac skipped the Rose Bowl, how mad must tOSU fans be after their ENTIRE TEAM skipped the Fiesta Bowl?!?

Hey, you can't blame them. They just didn't want to risk their NFL careers for a meaningless bowl game.

Oops, it was the playoffs for the NC.

Never mind.

Too much stress. Would have to quit coaching for a year.

TBF to tOSU, they lost 12 of their starters to the NFL draft last year.  11 of those 12 went in the first 102 picks. The fact that they wrecked OU and made it to the CFP is kind of astounding.

tOSU is the definition of  a football factory; a school where players can take a single "AIDS awareness" class during football season.

Programs like that don't rebuild, they just reload. (a bit of a cliche, but certainly true with Urban Meyer lead teams).

Since 1970 the Pac-12 has more than double the number of head-to-head wins against the Big-10 than the Big-10 has.

Didn't realize how true that was until I checked. In the period from 1950-1965, what is now the Pac-12 had a grand total of four victories against the Big Ten, three of which were against Wisconsin.
I grew up in Seattle, and when Washington played Wisconsin in 1960, everyone wondered if the upstart Huskies could stand up to the big, bad Badgers. Washington won 44-8, and there were suggestions after the game that Wisconsin was soft, had too much fun at Disneyland, and hadn't taken the game seriously.

Re: Other games of interest: Bowl season edition - washingtonismoney - 01-02-2017

Wisconsin up 7-0 on Western Michigan, and driving -- they're on W. Michigan's side of the field. A WMU loss would be useful for Stanford's ranking cause, if you're into that.
