On the broadcast, I never noticed any players going to locker rooms on several occasions? If starters had done that would have been noticeable
It was between sets, when they normally stay on the court. Happened four or five times, in addition to the couple of uniform changes due to bleeding.

Can you clarify the source of "several members of the team were sick"?
In the first stoppage for blood, one (only one) of our players (not the player who was bleeding) went to the locker room (well, at least off the floor via the exit closest to the band). At the time I thought it was because she needed to change some clothing or shoes that had gotten blood on it, but maybe it was a bathroom run. (The player who was bleeding later ran behind the curtains to change her shirt.)
No, other than the one instance, I didn't see others rushing off court after coming out of the game or between sets. I didn't notice that players weren't playing when one might expect them. I didn't notice any of the players not participating in the post-game greeting at the net or in the frolic in front of the band. I don't recall noticing of mask usage by players, coaches, or on-court staff.
If several of our players were sick, I didn't notice any signs of it.

One minute NCAA video of Hambly mic'd up for practice. I thought it was interesting.

Missed Chalk Talk so didn't know many of the players were sick. Now, I'm much more empathetic.
We did not play like a final four or championship team. Stanford was often out of synch and tentative. We played a poor last 3 sets (perhaps due to illness). We only won set 5 because Oregon had 7 attack errors and one missed serve, over half our points came from Oregon errors. In the last set, we seemed to be trying to avoid making mistakes rather than playing hard and strong. Perhaps due to illness.
The good news is if we can beat USC next Sunday in LA and win out against the other 4 under .500 in conference teams remaining on our schedule, we will be a #1 seed and get to play at home for the first 4 rounds of the tourney.

I wouldn't look past UCLA. They just beat WSU 3-2 in Pullman.

Fair enough on UCLA. What a match with 3 sets going overtime with a 17-15 5th set. Sad to see that WSU is collapsing at the end of the year. I hope we schedule the top soon-to-be former Pac 12 schools for OOC preseason matches.
RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 11-11-2023
NCAA RPI for UCLA is currently #38. If they were to beat Stanford, UCLA would be in the NCAA tournament. If they lose, maybe in but depends on other factors. So from UCLA's perspective, they have as much at stake in next week's match as Stanford.

First set pretty close so far against OSU. Pringle with a spectacular dig that also goes down in the stats as a kill for her.

3 lucky points put us ahead
need to get Rubin going this match
RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 11-11-2023
Stanford serving aces and not missing serves. Team looking ok toward end of first set.
Keep setting the middles please. First set in the books and Stanford comes out on top.

25-17 Stanford. Lots of blocks.
RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 11-11-2023
Big solo block by Francis.
So far MBs are the stars for Stanford. Set two off to a pretty good start for the Cardinal. OSU dreadful at covering tips.
Rubin says OSU serve out. Hambly challenges. Official agrees.

rubin 1 kill, kipp 2 halfway thru 2nd set
RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 11-11-2023
Pringle getting her serves in which is helpful. Stanford up 15-10 in second set.
Kipp ends set 2 with a kill from the back row that probably put a dent in the floor.
I'm going to vote either Vicini or Francis MVP of first two sets.

the Kipp kill was awesome

Third set, Stanford just keep your serve in and you'll win.
At the moment Stanford showing it hasn't been capable of playing a complete match at a high level. Still time to recover.
