Re: Connor Wedington Decommits From UW - GoodGrief - 12-12-2016

The tweet responses from some of the UW fans are mighty classy: "Major life mistake" and "he aint a husky then hes enemy.period"

Although I did like one of the responses to one of those outraged tweets: "If you could spell or use grammar correctly, maybe he would take you seriously."

Re: Connor Wedington Decommits From UW - OutsiderFan - 12-13-2016

Wedington made quite a leap in the latest Rivals rankings.  He went from not rated in the Rivals 250, all the way to #146 and the #11 RB in the land.  Sione Lund is the #8 ranked Athlete and #140 on the Rivals 250.

Though it's possible Wedington could be being recruited as a WR, if he is in fact a RB, getting Wedington and Lund in the same class could be the best RB class Stanford has had in some time in terms of getting seemingly two potentially very good complimentary players.

Wedington is listed at 5-11, 190.  Lund 6-0, 230.

Re: Connor Wedington Decommits From UW - Phogge - 12-13-2016

In the offseason Shaw spoke of getting Marx involved in the passing game. His injury has precluded that. The banana passes to the FB in Harb's offense seemed to be always open. Perhaps a healthy Marx and Lund will be in that mix next year.

Re: Connor Wedington Decommits From UW - bl82 - 12-13-2016

We often talk about converting RBs to WRs, particularly for RBs who are smaller and might not be able to stand up to the rigors of a heavy workload against Pac12 foes.

My problem with this -- and I hardly ever see it mentioned -- is that while some aspects of good hands can be taught, much of it is innate.  Frankly, our success rate for converting RBs to WRs is not that great and it often is a result of marginal hands.  Wedington might be one of those exceptions and I haven't seen enough film to have an opinion, but the slotting smaller RBs as future WRs is an assumption that is fraught with difficulties, IMHO.

Wedington is a RB. Have you seen his tape? Remind you of anyone (not just because of the number)? We need RBs more than anything and he is a stud. Big pick-up assuming we land him.

In an interview, Wedington says that he chose number 5 because of Reggie Bush, but he reminds me of another number 5 who leaves big shoes to fill in Stanford's backfield next year.

Geaux Cardinal!

This may be a bit of an overstatement, but Wedington reminds me of Demetris Robertson.  His video, shows him playing RB, WR, CB, and returning kicks a lot like Robertson's videos did.

I suspect Robertson has a bit more explosiveness and Wedington is a bit stronger runner.  Robertson didn't play much WR in high school but made the Freshman AA team as a WR his first year in college.

Re: Class of 2017 - Hank 91 - 12-13-2016

Wedington's 247 Crystal Ball is 100% Stanford. Which is nice.

Hank, there's your stealth recruit!  Hope there's more.

Re: Walker Little on the news - FarmBoy - 12-15-2016

Noticed his recent twitter post talking about a Texas visit. Lots of people in burnt orange in the room. I didn't see a similar photo/post for a Stanford visit.
