Wow, when you see how both Graves/Oregon and Barnes/Arizona have fallen after being almost at the top, you appreciate Tara more.  Sustaining excellence over many years is a lot harder than simply getting near the top once.  I really thought that Oregon and Arizona would use their success to recruit and become perennial contenders, but they both somewhat squandered their success and hemorrhaged players.  They may be back, but they are teams that did not reliably "reload."  In the meantime, good luck to Nnaji.  It sounds like she might have been happier at Stanford, where many former wbb players go into medicine and related fields.

Yowza. Just looking at their schedule and they're 1) giving away hot dogs, sodas, bottled water and popcorn to fans attending games in December, and, 2) Only $20/month gives you admission to a ton of sports including WBB. I guess that gets butts in the seats. Would love that sort of advantage (as well as not having to sell my plasma to afford season tickets).

Yes indeed.  I've just brought myself to think of $8 hot dogs as a kind of charitable contribution.  Makes them easier to "swallow."

Kim Mulkey was ejected on a double technical late in the fourth quarter of LSU game against Northwestern State for arguing with a referee when Aneesah Morrow was called with a charge. Here is an interesting question:  has Tara ever been ejected from a game?  For that matter, has she ever had a technical called on her.  I'm guessing maybe yes, in her younger more aggressive days.

As for Mulkey, I've ejected her from my consciousness some time ago.

Re Tara, I don't know about ejected, but definitely has been called for Ts. If I recall correctly, she's said in the past that she won't do something to get a T unless it's worth it, or something to that effect.

Ucla got a lot of layups against the full court press. betts made it tough around basket for osu

UCLA did give up a brobdingnagian lead at the end and turned it over multiple times against the press.  Sometimes I think we are too hard on our own team when we do that.

Very good point! Far too often posters seem to want a level of perfection out of the Stanford women without cutting them any slack. Our public comments are often more self-revealing than accurate assessments of the team play. Even the Warriors have frequent bad quarters, yet we marvel at their winning ways!
As for UCLA, they are definitely beatable, I’d bet my money on SC in the coming battle of the south land!

I wondered if Utah Tech had succeeded by the use of transfers.  But, no, it appears the players all developed at Utah Tech. Three fifth-year players and the rest underclassmen (well, some are redshirt sophomores). Only 12 players.

The revolving door of transfers began right after he had his best team--probably a national championship taken away by COVID--and Oregon has plummeted since.  He had a surprising number of transfers out even earlier than that, but the ones more recently have been devastating.  

But I don't have a clue as to what went wrong at Oregon.  Oregon State has been hurt some too--maybe the weather becomes a factor now that athletes can always move to sunnier climes.  Or maybe it is something more substantial.  I wonder what the Oregon fans think it is?
