I've been watching the Duke vs North Carolina match on ACCN. While Duke is a mid-level team, their band is first rate. The youngest Keefe sister is Duke's go-to hitter. She would not be in Stanford's starting lineup this season. I don't know the reason for choosing Duke (did Hambly recruit her?), but it seems her Duke decision turned out the best for everyone.

Yes, that Keefe. Seems like she wanted to play right away because she would have had to wait at least two years to see playing time.

FWIW, the youngest Keefe was on the same club team as Rubin...

Just saw the score for Baylor at Texas. Baylor took the first two sets, but Texas dominated the next two, and won the fifth.
21-25, 27-29, 25-11, 25-11, 15-10.
They play again tomorrow.

Stanford at Arizona today. Arizona has one conference win. Will Stanford overlook the Wildcats in anticipation of their match on Sunday with Arizona State?
Arizona website shows game time 6:00pm MST. Stanford website shows 6:00 PT. I assume these are the same time. Daylight savings time ends in California on November 5 so PT means PDT.
Annabelle Smith is still shown on the Stanford roster although she has medically retired and I believe doesn't show up for practices, matches, or team events. That's fine with me. I recall Charlotte Brown medically retired for a major health issue and continued to attend all matches carrying water bottles and doing anything she could to help.

I love the expansion of women's professional sports but all of these new leagues popping up are just competing against each other and I don't see how that would help.
Athletes Unlimited softball in competition with WPF and now Pro Volleyball Federation and AU against each other in Volleyball.

I like this live stream. Good variety of music during lulls in the action.
So many unforced mistakes. I don't think a lollipop serve should go 15 feet long.
Stanford on a little comeback. Might be too late this set.
Baird getting her serves in. Nice. Come on Katie. Keep getting your serve in and let Arizona make mistakes.
Stanford wins set one on serving run by Baird.
As BobK says, a win is a win. One set in the win column. It wasn't pretty at times.

Baird on another serving run in set 2. I'm all in for serving hard but I think you should also consider the opponent. For Arizona, get the serve in and let them make mistakes.
I have a window open for livestats so no score on livestream is fine for me. Also sometimes hearing the crowd noise, the band, etc is a blessing compared to listening to an announcer.
Stanford wins set 2 by a score of 25-17 with a kill by Harvey.
Beaven gets her big chance and serves the ball 30 feet long.

NCAA Div I Selection Committee will announce on Sunday its second "reveal" of top 10 teams. I expect Stanford to be at #3 but not sure about that.
"The reveal is based on the criteria used to select and seed the 64 teams for the volleyball championship and includes strength of schedule, Rating Percentage Index, head-to-head competition, results versus common opponents, significant wins and losses, and locations of contests. The regional advisory committees will also provide input for consideration by the Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee."
