Re: Class of 2017 - ChicagoCard - 10-17-2016

Then he can't have missed a team fighting hard for their teammates and head coach.

Re: Class of 2017 - OutsiderFan - 10-17-2016

Sarell won't be looking at the current OL and thinking "man these guys stink, I don't want to play on that team."  He'll be looking at his class and the Stanford education.  Davis Mills is a 5 star QB and anyone smart knows how important that is.

He might be thinking "I can play right away."

Looks like Davis Mills is back in shape. Six TD passes.

Re: Class of 2017 - Hurlburt88 - 10-22-2016

Great to see.  As we are reminded this year, critical to have strong depth for so many reasons.

Re: Class of 2017 - slide - 10-24-2016

since the Valor Christian game (and coming off knee surgery), Mills is 81 for 108 with 19 TDs (if Max Preps is accurate).

Re: Class of 2017 - SamuelMcF - 10-31-2016

KJ Britt just committed to Auburn.

And we didn't even get a cameo in the video. Such a shame.

Hey, in the recruiting world (as Ricky Bobby would say) if you ain't first you're last.

Re: Class of 2017 - OutsiderFan - 10-31-2016

In other news, Stanford verbal commit Sione Lund, 4 star ATH from Utah makes surprise decision.  https://stanford.rivals.com/news/lund-updates-lds-mission-plans-and-next-step-with-stanford

He's not going to take his mission.  He's still waiting on admissions, but if he gets in, he will be available to play in 2017 as a True Frosh.  At 6-0, 230+, Lund looks to be the big RB Stanford has lacked for a couple years.

Relax. When you're a stealth commit, that's how you roll.

BTW I have no basis for saying this.  Just making crap up.

Re: Class of 2017 - Hank 91 - 10-31-2016

Feel free to make crap up, especially in reference to stealth recruits. I love the stealth recruit.

Good article about Foster Sarell.

I haven't seen the movie, but I hope he also reads the book "The Big Short" because I think Michael Lewis is brilliant. *OT comment, sorry!

Glad to hear that academics are such a high priority with him, although I don't think Stanford offers an undergraduate finance major.
Before the season started I thought we were the favorite to land him. Now the way Washington has come on, I think it's a coin flip between us and the Huskies.

Given his position, he presumably has enjoyed "Blind Side", also.
