My predictions for 2023:
1) Giants batters will hit more than 220 HRs and Giants will be in top 10 in MLB in runs scored.
2) Giants will have at least 86 wins (per wager). I think it will be 88 and a wild card.
3) Giants starting pitching will be 3.5 FIP or less.
4) Giants defense, as measured by Total Zone Total Fielding Runs Above Average (Rtot) will rank around 20th in MLB.
5) Giants lineup:

Conforto, RF

Bart, C
Estrada, 2B

Judging from the attendance - no way there were 30k as announced based on the shots I saw - on Monday, it doesn't seem there is much buzz or interest in the Giants from the would be paying customers.
How long until Schmitt, Brown, Luciano, and Harrison are playing for the Giants. That's when I will pay attention.

How many times is it necessary to state that attendance reflects tickets sold not bodies in the stadium? This comes up every fall when people are critiquing football attendance and every spring when the same people are talking about the number of people at baseball games.

How many tickets are bought by corporates for entertainment with a possible 50% write off? if tickets for those seats aren't being used, it suggests they can't be given away for free. This is why butts in seats is a much more meaningful assessment of fan interest than tickets sold, which to me, is a garbage number when assessing attendance in less than full stadiums.

Our firm purchases about $1.6 million in tickets spread out across 21 separate sports teams (and suites with non-sporting events attached). Very few are unused. We either bring clients, prospects or referral sources; give the tickets straight to clients; give them to staff; or give them to charity, long in advance of their usage date.
And the tickets and parking/transportation costs aren't deductible. 50% of the meals are deductible, as long as they aren't lavish.
BTW, none of our ticket purchases are in the SFBA.

Yes, a less than stellar record after five years. Logan Webb is the only Giant in last year's WAR Top 100, coming in at #45. No prospects, no free agents, and a team of platoon players, who are unlikely to accumulate much WAR. In 2021, the Giants had five players in the WAR Top 100 (Crawford, Posey, Webb, DeSclefani, and Gausman), along with a few who were just under the metric (Belt, Ruf, Yaz, Rogers, even Duggar).
They've set up their team so they'll have a bunch of pretty good players with from 350 to 450 atbats, and 150 innings pitched. they don't have the best players. They have really good players and a lot of depth. We'll see if that strategy holds.

The market is up slightly so I am back to my original call. Final Prediction: 80-82.
The good news - we will finally begin to see some of the touted minor leaguers make an appearance at Oracle. The impact they have will have not influence the overall results this year. However, they will set the bar for the next generation of Giants homegrown talent.
The bad news - the older guys will continue to be plagued by injuries and the lack of team speed and defense will continue to be a problem.
Overall assessment - The transition continues for another year and the best shortstop in franchise history and the last link to the dynasty says goodbye…

Hate to say it, but I really like his answers and thinking, especially the fact he judges the health of the franchise by how strong the farm system is.
Of course, the Giants are now ranked #17, in that department, with the Dodgers #2, D-Backs #3, and Rockies #14. The Padres have depleted theirs and are #23, but their MLB team has 5 of the Top 100 players in MLB and more talent than the Giants have by far.
The Top 30 organization prospects the Giants do have seem to be older than they are in most other systems. I don't know if this means the older players are just better, or the younger prospects aren't good enough. Whatever the case, for every dollar spent on free agents, I'd like the Giants to spend 50 cents on prospect development, knowing the ROI for prospect development is greater than it is for free agent signings, unless you are winning the top of the class the Giants have not been able to land.

I’ve seen projections from 88 to 75. Giants floor to ceiling gap is quite broad. My keys:
1. Manaea. Webb and Cobb are solid 1-2. Rest is nice “depth” but i question quality. Manaea was awful last year. But at his best he’s a solid starter that can give you 150-160 innings. If he rebounds, that’s big.
2. Catcher. A potential major problem. Perez hasn’t played much in 3 years. If healthy, reputation is he’s excellent behind the dish. He won’t hit much. Bart is at a crossroads, imo. If he doesn’t produce this year, his Giant days are numbered. By produce, I mean be solid behind the plate and hit for power with a decent OBP. . He’s gonna strike out a ton and forget the average. 220. 320 OBP. 17-20 HRs. He does that, he’s fine. Sabol is a liability behind the plate. But has value, potentially , as utility player and no 3 catcher. The odds of him sticking all year as a Rule 5 are relatively long. I’d give him a 35% chance. LastbRule 5/that stuck for S.F. is Max Venable. Catching is a big ?
3. Haniger/Conforto. Get 130 games with production from both. That is what they bought.
4. Getting to Doval. Taylor Rogers is an under appreciated add. The 7th and 8th was a mess second half of last year. They pitched Brebbia into the ground. Rogers should allow them to avoid that. Be nice to also get over 950 innings from Webb, Cobb, Manaea, Wood, DeSclafani, Junis and Hjelle.
5. Infield defense. If Crawford stays healthy they should be ok up the middle. I know the metrics were not good for Estrada. But I think that’s a matter of consistency not ability. I expect him to be better. Corners are potentially a mess.
5. Avoid “The Churn”. Giants had 32 players at SF last year that are no longer with the organization. That’s astonishing to me. If the movement between Sacto and SF is largely off the current 40, as opposed to Zaidi waiver wire scours, that is a good sign organizationally. If the number of those that play at SF and are gone in ‘24 is anywhere near the ‘22- 23 figure, it not only portends a long season, it’s a sign the prospects are not progressing. I am optimistic that “the Churn” will be much less this year.

Edit : Just learned signed Matt Beaty put him on the 26 man roster. Bryce Johnson didn’t make it. He will be out of the organization. I hope to hell somebody signs him and he has a nice year. Zaidi is like a junkie on the Churn. He can’t help himself. Matt Beaty is another left-handed hitting outfielder first baseman with no speed. . Oh, but he has that beloved option. Man, I get tired of this.

Don’t give up on Johnson yet. If no one signs him, he may be on the Sacramento-San Francisco express this season.
Johnson may be losing faith in the Giants. Silly move to bring him and Hjelle to New York and then pull them at the last minute for other team's cast-offs. You don't earn much good will with players or their families that way. Hjelle and Johnson earned a shot with their play this Spring. If you want a good farm system then give its top prospects their shot when they earn it rather than give those slots to other teams retreads.
