Another TD reception by Cajuste....  :P
I'm having more fun picking paint colors for the house I'm going to buy...

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

I dunno, I found that last drive a lot of fun. First half? Not so much.

Has anybody seen McCaffrey?? I've only noticed him on a couple of the kickoffs.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

Most underrated story of the first quarter of the season: Aziz Shittu has been active and (I think) very good. Vitally important to have a fourth guy on the line. I wish we had a fifth, and I don't believe I've seen Kaumatule or Lohn or Watkins at all this game.

Got a carry on 2nd and 13 that went for 5 yards.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - fullmetal - 09-13-2014

McCaffrey just had a reception for first down.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - fullmetal - 09-13-2014

There's been a steady diet of Ward, Skov, and Sanders.  Must be running with the 2nd/3rd offensive skill players now, I guess?

TyCat -- Ty keeps for a touchdown.  Not a bad play--the OL and blockers blocked all over the right side of the field, and Ty got in there (tripping and spinning his way in).

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - Hurlburt88 - 09-13-2014

I am still not sold on the wildcat but TyM ran that one perfectly

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - Roberton3 - 09-13-2014

I'd like to see Sanders get at least 8 more yards...he's at 92 for the game now.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - rudruff - 09-13-2014

Conflicted on how to cheer for a TD out of the wildcat.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - thunder_chik - 09-13-2014

Yeah, that's good.  McCaffrey, Montgomery...and let's see BJ Sanders get a 100+ yard game.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

The scoreboard is a bit deceptive here. Army's option and slow pace have constricted the game. Stanford's 28 points come on 8 possessions, which equates to a very good 3.5 points per possession. Stanford's YPP is a pretty mediocre (considering opposition) 6.1, but given the depths of pain in the second quarter, not quite as bad as I'd expect.

They also subbed Hogan out before the play.  That has the disadvantage that it lets the D sub in personnel to defend the wildcat, but it still seems like a good idea.  When Hogan stays in and splits out wide, the D cheats off of him, so you wind up playing 10 on 11 -- and that defeats the whole point of the wildcat.

I know it's Evan Crower time, but I'd like to see Ryan Burns get some snaps.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - Hurlburt88 - 09-13-2014

Looked to me like Lueders tweaked a knee.  Hope minor . . . anyone with any other sense of it?

Kaumatule and Lohn have both been in on this last Army drive.  And the D is looking a lot weaker during that drive.  Could just be a coincidence (or the Army QB change), but it's not a great sign.

Edit: And as soon as I say something negative about the D, Tarpley comes up with the interception.

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - thunder_chik - 09-13-2014

Tarpley snags a pick for us... thank you, Defense!
Followed up by a TD pass to Montgomery!  Nice.

Hmmm. Maybe I should mention other players who have been largely invisible in this game until I ask: has anybody seen a Stanford running back bust out a game-breaking 90-yard touchdown run??

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - Hurlburt88 - 09-13-2014

I have never seen anyone put their mouthguard on his ear like Tarpley does

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - akCard - 09-13-2014

Great goal line stand by defensive backups

Re: Open Comments on the Army Game - thunder_chik - 09-13-2014

Dallas Lloyd makes a tackle to preserve the shutout...
