I think Winston coming to Stanford is a pipe dream. A quick google search came up with the following article:

I'm going to blatantly start a rumor on here (or maybe I should say it on twitter to really get things going):
Skyler Morninwheg, one of our earliest recruits to this class before he dropped out when Harbaugh left, is apparently back on the market, having dropped Penn State (I assume in response to Sandusky-gate).Â
A possible re-commit to give us a QB in this class?
Maybe it is time to start a social experiment and tweet this and see how long it takes to reach Fla, where Morninwheg is apparently a hot name in recruiting. Or maybe I won't rather than inadvertantly violate some recruting rule on the off chance he actually DOES come back

Interesting thought. He has a visit scheduled to VT tomorrow according to ESPN.Â
I'm actually really surprised that a top recruit QB wouldn't be signing up for Stanford in this 2012 class with the pro-style/run game that Shaw employs, it gets QBs ready to run a pro offense.Â

Winston isn't coming to Stanford. Not his style. And we don't even want anyone else left. Wait until you see how good the QBs in the next class that like Stanford are. Plus Dallas Lloyd is in this class and he's supposed to be pretty good.

Are we sure Dallas Lloyd is coming? I know this is supposed to be the year he returns from his mission, but whenever I read about people to look for in the coming year his name never comes up. I figured this year the coaches really only went after obviously elite QBs while they worked with the guys we have. Next year I would think we may be more aggressive, and maybe successful with the overall strength of the team, especially the OL and RBs.Â

There was a post on another board last month saying that Dallas Lloyd is coming to Stanford and will be on campus this summer. The source seemed to have some knowledge of the situation, but I'm not sure who it was.

My brother told me one of the private premium message boards had some info on Lloyd his week. Apparently his dad said he's definitely coming to Stanford. So no need to waste a spot on a QB.
