The fact they rolled over Stanford says more about Stanford, and particularly its defense not being very good, than Southern ×ÉÉ being special.Â
Our defense has issues certainly, but if you watched the $C game you saw them playing almost perfect offense....especially Darnold, with pinpoint passes in the perfect location to pretty-well-covered receivers. They haven't been able to reprise that performance since, plus their injury list is long and deep.

Darnold was certainly H-worthy on the drive that tied Wazzu at 27-27. The 4th and 13 throw - he was crushed as it left his hand but he threw it to the right spot and Vaughns made an incredible catch while double covered for the 1st down. And Darnold came right back with a beautiful throw to Vaughns for another 25 yds on the very next play - it doesn't get much better than that. I actually thought the strip-sack that ended the game was a homer call. Could have just as easily been reviewed and called as arm-in-motion IMHO.
There was a graphic near the end showing Wazzu with 77 plays to 51 for $C, which illustrates how dominant they were. But it sure felt like they dodged a bullet with the strip sack, because Darnold was cranking up that old $C mojo we love to hate.

UCLA's Darnay Holmes was ejected for targeting. Definitely led with his head...

Perhaps rumors of Cals resurgence were a tad premature. They lost 45-24 to an Oregon team who lost to ASU last week and who lost two quarterbacks and Royce Freeman to injury. They had 8 yards rushing. They had something like 80 yards of total offense in the first half. In contrast, despite Freeman only getting 8 carries in the game, Oregon rushed for 328 yards. The score would have been more lopsided but for 110 yards of penalties against the Ducks and a couple and an interception that led to Cals only score in the first half.

Umm...We've got two such lads on our team.
Not like this.*

I'll be curious if anything happens. I know frustrations are high and storming the field can create some tough situations, but this could have been ugly. Classless at a minimum

Didn't the NCAA or Pac12 pass some rule about how long people had to wait before storming the field? Or was that for storming the court in basketball?
