Re: Other games of interest - martyup - 11-12-2016

UW has abandoned their running game.  Unfortunately, SC's DBs are playing pretty well.

Re: Other games of interest - martyup - 11-12-2016

Jake Browning just blew his chance to make the trip to New York City.  It's amazing that we beat SC.

Because they couldn't run. Though, really, I think they spent way too much time testing the edges compared to the middle.

UW has not looked like a top five team, they picked a bad week to do that.

Re: Other games of interest - stupac2 - 11-12-2016

Wow, Browning has two horrible plays in a row for a safety. Has USC completely transformed since we played them or something?

Re: Other games of interest - OutsiderFan - 11-12-2016

Have to wonder how Stanford would do against Washington if they played again.  If you look at the results of the season, it's pretty clear these teams go up and down and it's tough for teams to play at a high level for a whole season.

Some teams start great and fade.  Others start slow and get hot.  Some start well, swoon, then come back again.  It's quite fascinating to see.

And the Ole Miss True Frosh goes 25/42 for 338, 2 TDs and a pick, to knock off #8 Texas A&M on the road.

Re: Other games of interest - TreesAndBirds - 11-12-2016

And Michigan loses!

Re: Other games of interest - martyup - 11-12-2016

With all of our 3 losses to ranked teams, should we be back into the top 25?

Re: Other games of interest - BurgXXIII - 11-12-2016

Unfortunately, UW's loss probably pushes Stanford down one in the bowl lineup (since UW will not proceed to the championship bowls).

Turmoil city!

Why is there an assumption that a team must be undefeated to get into the playoff?  There's no team in the Big12 or ACC who is undefeated.  Clemson and Michigan both lost today.  If UW runs the table, they are still in.

And, UW might get a chance to play SC again in the CCG.  If they win out, they will go to the playoffs.

Davis Webb is getting beat up by the Cougs.

Because (a) there are four slots for the Power 5, (b) there was yacking by the pundits earlier today that one-loss Ohio State should be ahead of undefeated UW due to SOS and © UM beating Ohio State in two weeks might mean both go. They're looking for every excuse to leave the Pac12 out.

Re: Other games of interest - ThePassionOfTheChryst - 11-13-2016

So chaos finally decided to strike. It waited long enough.

Re: Other games of interest - HisKneeWasDown - 11-13-2016

This proves we need an eight team playoff. #StopTheMadness

That looks like it requires a WSU win at Colorado. Otherwise, there's no way Utah and Colorado lose before their head-to-head game with the winner going to the CFG.

Well, $C's win over Colorado might be helpful if those two end up tied with two losses.

Re: Other games of interest - ChicagoCard - 11-13-2016

Oh it hadn't occurred to me that there could be a 3-way tie for the south. If S,C, and Utah win out, and Colorado beats WSU, there would be a 3-way tie among those 3 teams. I think that's right. I don't know who would win. Colorado and S,C, would have one non-conf loss each.

Yeah, I really don't understand this. There's currently one undefeated P5 team! The highest-ranked Big 12 team already has two losses! If UW wins out, they're in. It's that simple.

The Big 10 is where things get interesting because if OSU and PSU both win out then PSU goes to the title game and OSU stays home. It's possible that OSU still gets into the playoff in that situation but I doubt it. Hard to predict though.
