My guess is Duke Snider. Played one season for the Giants...and one for the Mets.

How many pitches did he need to retire the side, and what was the average speed of his pitches thrown?
15 pitches. Only threw curves, I think. 40 mph give or take.

Dancing in the Dark, 1984. Last year I was a DJ. Don't know which song blocked him. I'll guess either "When Doves Cry" by Prince, or "What's Love Got to Do With It?" by Tina Turner.

I would guess a lefty power hitter playing for the Giants, so...Brandon Belt.

Well done Mick! The average speed was ~ 35 mph. Kruk and Kuip were joking about slow pitch softball throughout that half inning.
Porter fared better than Keke Hernandez, who pitched the top of the 9th, walked 3 and gave up a grand slam to Schmitt in 2/3 of the inning. Hernandez was mostly throwing in the mid-50s with a couple fastballs ~ 87 mph.
Beat LA!

Well done, Mick. Dancing in the Dark peaked at number 2, and would have been #1 but for Prince’s When Doves Cry.

Clayton Kershaw has been a Giant Killer throughout his career (and is still going strong). To date, which Giants’ batter has the most plate appearances against him?

Given his career timing, I would guess Brandon Crawford.
I looked it up (it's not Crawford). My first instinct, and I didn't go with it.
All of these batters have career OPS of 3.000 or better against Kershaw: Shawn Estes
All of these batters have career OPS of 2.000 or better against Kershaw: Mauricio Dubon
All of these batters have career OPS of 1.000 or better against Kershaw: Brandon Hicks, Jerar Encarnacion, Pedro Feliz, Chris Stewart, Luis Matos, Kevin Pillar, Cody Ransom, Charlie Culberson, Tyler Fitzgerald, Joc Pederson and Tony Gwynn. And Gary Matthews (son of SFGiant Gary Matthews)
Between .900 and 1.000 OPS vs. Kershaw: Pat Burrell, Bengie Molena, Nate Schierholtz, Austin Slater, Donovan Solano, Mark Canha and Juan Uribe.

Bonds hit 23 out of the first 25 splash hits. The other two, and the first splash hit by someone other than Bonds, was Felipe Crespo.
The only other player beyond Bonds to hit two homers into McCovey Cove in the same game was Jack Suwinski, who played for the Pirates.

Warnecke wanted to marry her. Her mother warned her away from Warnecke, who was in substantial debt at the time due to expansion of his architectural firm.

Today I learned that in 1919, an unseasonably warm day in Boston caused a 2.3 million gallon tank filled with molasses to suddenly burst, unleashing a tsunami of molasses that swept through the streets at 35 mph, crushing buildings, killing 21 people, and injuring over 150 others. The viscosity of the molasses made rescue efforts nearly impossible, and the aftermath was chaotic for weeks as cleanup crews struggled to deal with the sticky mess.

No trivia question, but the strangest thing I've learned about so far in 2025.

Super cool highlight from the Phillies/Mets game tonight. Two runners scored about a second apart from one another.
I don’t know the answer, but what is the shortest amount of time between two runners scoring?
