Despite the fact that even with the success of my brand many people continue to mispronounce my name and even more misspell it, just once I want us to sign someone with an unpronounceable name like this.

Looks from his twitter account like this is a 2017 recruit.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 05-15-2015

The list of visitors this weekend is impressive.  I hope that there is a critical mass of guys with very high enthusiasm, like Fehoko and Heimuli-Lund.  Mike Williams hasn't declared a leader, but his positive comments on twitter create the possibility that he will be a cheerleader as well.  It will be key to have cheerleaders because a number of the visitors -- like Javon McKinley -- appear to be coming to the Bay Area primarily for the Nike camp and still need to be sold on Stanford.

I know that we are in his top 5, but he seems to have taken a fancy to Tennessee lately, and I seem to recall that Hulk had mentioned that distance might be an issue for Chidi.

Unfortunately, those who thought Okonya was leaning toward Tennessee were correct.

Perhaps one more example of the fact that when recruits say academics is their #1 priority you should take it with a grain of salt.

Did the dude visit?  That seems like a bigger "tell" than just saying academics are important, the go-to move for every kid who doesn't want to be thought of as a dumb jock.

Re: Class of 2016 - JohnR34231 - 05-16-2015

Not sure whether Okonya ever visited or not, but I gotta believe that if he put us in his top five without doing so it was just for show.

Re: Class of 2016 - kuz - 05-16-2015

Okonya visited in February.

What, I thought Stanford was missing from Caleb Kelly's finalists?  Mama Kelly doesn't appear to agree...

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 05-17-2015

David Long apparently earned an invitation to The Opening Finals at the camp today. Stanford already has two commits going to the Finals -- Robinson and Smith. Among the others listed as going, I don't see many Stanford targets. Obi Eboh is one of the few, but as we know, there is a bit of a logjam with offers for cornerbacks, so he doesn't yet hold an offer. Yarbrough, Hamilton, Rand, Williams, Edmonds, Butler, McKinley, Imatorbhebhe among the elite guys not listed. Crawford and Robertson we're listed. Gives an idea of how hard it is to make the cut and how highly regarded Eboh must have been.

Re: Class of 2016 - OutsiderFan - 05-18-2015

Rivals story on Caleb Kelly says Stanford now in his top list of schools, after not being mentioned in his Top 10 before this weekend visit apparently wowed him (and his mom).

Obviously would be great to get a 5 star, but Kelly seems like a really impressive kid off the field.

Re: Class of 2016 - Stanford_Cardinals - 05-18-2015

Imatorbhebhe committed to USC this morning, too bad.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 05-18-2015

Vavae Malepeai reported a visit to Stanford prior to attending The Opening in Oakland this weekend.  247Sports also shows Malepeai as having "warm" interest in Stanford and Michigan, but not UCLA, his putative leader.  Is there any reason to think that Malepeai is leaning away from UCLA these days (or that UCLA is pulling back)?Â
