An uncomfortably close first set against Wake Forest but we won 25-22. Lizzy Andrew hit .571 (5 hits, 1 error on 7 swings). Harvey, OTOH, with no kills and a below 0 hitting percentage.
Second set off to an inauspicious start, down 2-6.

I feel for Harvey. most of the sets to her are too tight and too low, she cant do much with them

Re-upping since Card10fan re-asked; AFAIK, Sayer’s status hasn’t changed.

Another game, Stanford is letting a not very good team play fairly even with them. But we are up two sets to nothing, so …
On the other hand, when was the last time you saw a Stanford team lose a point by having too many hits on their side of the net?

Against weaker teams, Blyashov and sometimes Harvey (not in this one) can just overpower opponents despite the various Stanford offensive struggles on an off day. It doesn’t work that way against better teams - nor should we expect it to - unless maybe you are named Babcock or Murray. Just continues the thought this team is underperforming though.
19 MB kills yesterday - more than 6 a set. At least we are back to the formula that has worked the last season and a half.
Only 3 service errors. There has definitely been a shift to back off a bit and concentrate more.

For what it is worth #6 Wisconsin dropped a set to unranked Iowa, so it seems like we are not the only ones who sometimes struggle against sub-par competition (and remember, once upon a time, we beat Wisconsin). They are currently playing in the third set. Also, #17 Kansas is giving #8 ASU all it can handle; they are playing a 5th set. Oh, and unranked Baylor took the first set off #10 TCU.

Yes, Stanford gave up the first set 1-1, following a spate of games where weaker teams have given stronger teams trouble today.
NCState took the first set fairly comfortably 25-19. Thankfully, Stanford came roaring back and took the second set 25-11.

BTW, ASU did pull off the reverse sweep against KU. Wisconsin finished taking out Iowa (3-1), TAMU finished Auburn (3-1), and #24 Vandy finished of Mississippi State 3-1. All other matches featuring ranked teams were sweeps, though even Pitt was stretched to 27-25 on the third set by 8-9 Miami (the other two, though were 25-12 and 25-15).

WE win in three sets 19-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-19. So similar to most of the other teams that suffered a bit but got it done today.

Well Hambly is still trying stuff. Today was Rolson as a 1? rotation OH. It actually worked pretty well. Demaria has been hitting alright, but her serve reception is spotty while Rolson hit .500 on her 6 attacks and passed ok.
Serving in set 1 was horrendous though nothing went well. At least it got better.
Andrews coming along with 10 kills, hitting .769!!!
Blyashov was awesome - 22.5 points, 21 kills and 12 digs while hitting .432. My post after the last match aged well.
Cawa is improving - DS play might be up to respectable these days?
Middle offense continues its resurgence - yeah! - but now Harvey is in a rough patch. .083 today and only 3 kills after a tough Friday. Setting not helping obviously. But 21 MB kills is just over 5/set and 5/per seems to be their floor for a successful offense against better teams.

The game against Pitt just got moved to 4pm?? Tell me I'm not the only person severely impacted by this... I got a group of 15+ to come to this game and now most of them prob can't make it...

A weekday game at 4PM local seems like a sacrificial offering to the TV gods. (blocks people that work or are in K-12 and probably many college students; Geez, its only on ACCN, not something that is carried as nationally as some other channels)
I'm assuming you got group tickets for that number of people. I hope you complain loudly to the ticket office people and at least get money back for those that can't go.
Or, cancel the whole bunch and make arrangements with some sports bar to record and play back the game at the previously scheduled time. Stanford loses on tickets and concessions and looks worse with fewer seats filled.
