From this group, I'm assuming Andrew will be the lone starter at MB2

I agree with your 2024 starting lineup.  While Duncan is an MB, I expect she will be a practice team player. 

I worry about the lack of depth at MB.  Dreaming about either Vicini changing her mind about playing in 2024 or Taylor Harvey graduating a year early although I don't know if Stanford is at the top of her list.

Kurt is redshirting because we have 3 pin players who play all 6 rotations and are in their final year plus two other Frosh serving as back ups

Attention fans of my volleyball videos: the games this weekend are likely to be delayed.  I'm having cataract surgery Thursday and have no idea how my recovery will go.  The good news is it's one eye at a time so I won't be completely blind.  And, of course, they're doing my bad eye first.

Good luck with that. I know every case has its own issues and I am no MD but I just went through the process for both eyes (one at a time) and it was totally without drama.  Only excitement is discovering again the full palette of colors and the joy of good eyesight. HoPE  yours is the same.

Thank you. I know the surgery is pretty routine. And I’m sure my surgeon is one of the best. But I am still just a bit nervous. Thanks also for the encouraging forecast!

Tony I had mine quite a while ago. Wore glasses since I was 9. Except playing sports. So got the surgery and for the first time I could see the curve of a curve ball. Of course I was too old to hit one

Thanks, Bob.  We started wearing glasses at about the same age.  Looking forward to the correction.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and encouragement re my cataract surgery. The procedure was better than my highest expectations. Now I gotta set up my reminder software for the eyedrops schedule. The good news: videos will probably not be delayed.

Great news about your surgery Tony.  Lens replacement has become a very low risk operation.  I had cataract surgery a long time ago.  The doctor told me what my vision would be in each eye (done separately about four days apart) and it was exactly what he predicted.  The upside to the surgery was I didn't need glasses after it.

I only watched bits and pieces of last night's game but I believe I have this correct.  Pringle starts the match as DS which she's been doing most of this season.  Hambly must have seen something he didn't like because Beaven comes in as DS.  Beaven missed two serves and that pretty much ended her court time.  So Belardi finally gets her chance to show what she can do as DS.

Belardi this season seems to be relegated to third string DS after getting substantial playing time in this position last season.  I know Belardi is the backup setter but that normally should not interfere with her playing DS.  It's a little surprising as last season Hambly was high on Belardi, often referring to her as a baller.  Also add in the fact Belardi played the entire Beach season with their team and in theory that's supposed to help your digging/floor defense.

If I'm not viewing this correctly, please advise.

I wasn’t specifically tracking but your summary matches what I remember seeing.

Otherwise Stanford was pretty sloppy and gave a long run to Colorado every set I think. Serve return was not consistent at all. But besides dropping set 2, they were not ever deeply threatened.

Not sure what is going on with Minnesota:  back-to-back losses to Maryland and Rutgers.

As for the DSes:  I was curious too, about which player got the call in which situation.  Koko Kirsch also got some reps, before she was hurt.

Stanford is 66-4 all time against Washington State.  Throw every stat/record out the window.  Without a key starter Stanford should not be favored in this match.  I'll take the loss in stride if it happens.  More important to get Francis healthy. 

As of late, Minnesota is not helping Stanford's RPI.  They should fall out of the top 25.  Their setter has been experiencing nagging injuries and illness.
