Yeah hitting .102 won’t win many matches or sets. We got the middles going finally but when only 1 pin hits positive - barely - you aren’t winning.

Watching feels like Hambly doesn’t know what to do either hence lots of different combinations trying to find anything that might work.

When you have high, telegraphed sets against a good blocking team, it’s an uphill battle. Also lack of terminal, left-side hitters is a liability in a slow offense. Blyashov is good at times and sometimes hits directly into the block hoping for a miracle. A Stanford hitting percentage of .102 is not going to win many games.
I’m surprised Hambly believes Roslon is a better option at OH than Udoye. He is with the players every day in practice so I accept he sees something I don’t see.

If Hambly’s goal in 2027 is a top 25 team then the status quo with Parks setting is ok. If Hambly’s goal in 2027 is a final four finish there needs to be a change at setter. I think Hambly would be doing Parks a favor by moving her from the setting position after this season. She’s not going to play professionally as a setter; Parks has to know that. Let her play OPP in 2027 and sub in for Harvey when things aren’t going well.
I’m sympathetic to Parks’ dilemma. Coming out of club many fans/coaches thought she had the ability to be an elite college setter. She started off the season on the watchlist for AVCA POY. Logan has to be feeling stress with the way things are going.

By conference record, we're in a 3-way tie for 9th, just listed third of the three. :) Basically we're smack dab in the middle of the conference, compared with finishing first last year (tied with Pitt but ahead of them in the tiebreaker of head-to-head).

Is there a serious possibility we miss the NCAA tourney this year?
NC State, Duke, UNC, Cal all looming have pretty good records. If we don't start taking care of business, the loses might pile up pretty fast the next 3 weeks.

When Lizzy Andrew was interviewed yesterday on the broadcast, she credited Logan’s setting for her high hitting percentage.
But what does Lizzy know…

Come on 76lsjumb. You have to be smarter than your comment. What do you expect her to say in a public broadcast? Is she going to credit herself for being a great player? Of course not. You're twisting yourself into a pretzel for the sake of argument.

Honestly, I don't think my body could take twisting myself into a pretzel any more. I might have been able to do so when I was at the NCAA Final Fours in Albuquerque [1992], Austin [1994], Cleveland [1996], and Spokane [1997], and maybe a couple of the others since, but I'm just too old to do so now.
Regarding Logan and Lizzy, I'm thinking you might want to attend one of the upcoming chalk talks before the home matches and ask Coach Hambly yourself what his goals are and what Lizzy thinks. I've found him to be quite candid in answering questions, including tough ones.
As for me, I'm not going to assume that Lizzy would lie on national TV.

Really, really, disappointing to see Denise Corlett - the architect of so much success behind the scenes at Stanford take a job at U$C. I'm grateful for her contributions over the years and wish her all the best in LA.

Yeah -wouldn't read too much into Denise's appointment to this position from a longevity perspective. Things seem very unsetled at USC after
HC Brad Kellar abruptly and unexpectedly stepped away from coaching duties on October 5.
As mentioned in this article and in the announcement of Denise's appointment, (former) associate head coach Megan Moenoa is the interim HC. Also, Amin Luja-Rodriguez, formerly on the Long Beach State MVB and UCLA WVB coaching staffs, was named interim associate HC on the 8th.
Anybody with more to share on this situation?

Geez, you're going to double down on dumb? Dude, it's not an issue about lying. Lizzy was asked a question about why her hitting percentage is so high.
She's not going to say "while I'm getting sets all over the place, my incredibility ability to see the block and hit around or over it is the reason for my hitting percentage."
Is there anyone here other than 76lsjumb and MT who think Lizzy's hitting percentage and Stanford's "success" this season is due to Parks' setting?

Ok, I give up. Parks is an amazing setter and an immense help to all of Stanford's hitters.

I'm with you on this one. Stanford volleyball currently has plenty of problems and setting is ABSOLUTELY one of them. Parks is inconsistent and not even close to the level of Miner and Jenna Gray from year's past.
