Stanford seems to be in the mix for Trent Irwin, E. St. Brown, and Christian Kirk in the elite category, though Kirk seems like a longshot based on what I gather.  Just this week Stanford has offered two more WRs, in J.J Arcega-Whiteside, a WR from SC with 17 offers, and Reggie Robinson, a much less coveted recruit from TX.

Shaw was quoted saying 2015 WR recruiting was going well.  The reality is CJ Sanders (ND) and Brandon Polk (PSU) were uncommitted when he said that.  Another elite prospect, Alex Ofodile appears to be staying close to home in Missouri.

How many WRs does Stanford want/need in 2015?  Do these late offers suggest 2015 WR recruiting maybe isn't go so well?

Reggie Robinson is listed by Rivals as a safety:

But, I think you are right. It looks like Shaw is going down the list as higher rated WR recruits are looking elsewhere.

According to Drukarev, Robinsion was offered as a DB or WR. Robinson also said he was surprised that he got an offer from Stanford. Rivals has him as a two star.

I don't think it's clear at all. Nothing has changed about St. Brown and Irwin's status publicly. My guess is simply that having two targets at a need position is an awfully fragile strategy.

Stanford has offered 8 WRs so far with 3 verballed elsewhere so far (I am counting Robinson as a S offer)

as was true last year, I suspect that we will see more offers after the June Stanford camp.

Chaffin has a solid offer list: UNC, NC State, Duke, Louisville, Kansas State. He's a top 300 player to ESPN; a 4-star to 247; and a three-star to Rivals and Scout. Here's a scouting report: http://sonofacoach.com/brian-chaffin/

The conclusion? "Chaffin has the potential to be an outstanding center at the college level once he adds weight and strength. I would not be surprised to see him start for multiple years at a very high level."

Jabiari Tyler QB/Athlete from Newman in New Orleans camps at Stanford this week.  In his sophomore year he broke Peyton Manning's Newman passing record with six TD's in one game, and ran for three more.  An outstanding student, he already holds several Ivy League offers.

Would be a multi-dimensional offensive threat as a WR/RB who can also throw the ball downfield with accuracy.

Not recruiting strategy, but is IS recruiting - Redrum - 06-17-2014

Stanford picked up its 4th commit for the 2015 class in N. Carolina center/OL  Brian Chaffin.  6'2" 280.
3-star, ranked #8 in nation on Scout,  #6 on rivals.  The other finalists were Duke and NCState (parents' school).  What's really fun about reading the Duke football board is they are so new to success (won ACC division last year).  They remind me of us when we finally turned the corner.  Just happy with life.  Even when they lose a recruit to Stanford, a choice which (so far) none of the Blue Devils seem to think was wrong.

That is very interesting! I thought it was PSU head coach Franklin who basically compared committing to a school to a marriage engagement - no more flirting with others. That brings Eubank's tweet yesterday into context:

That tweet could also be directed to Dykes because it is believed we are still recruiting Cal commits Austin Aaron and Malik Psalms.

I just have a feeling that Wimbush is going to receive an offer if everything goes well for him during camp.
