By the way, to get an idea of how insane the World Series run differential was, you need to go down to the 49th most lopsided run differential in a World Series to find another team to score more runs than the other in a losing effort (1996, where the Atlanta Braves outscored the Yankees by an aggregate of 26-18 but lost in 6 games). 

Follow on, which World Series winning team had the worst regular season run differential (it was negative).

Justin Verlander (3x Cy Young, rookie of the year in 2006, and MVP in 2011) is one of the two.  No idea on the other.

Not a question, but I thought this was interesting.

Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Jon Smoltz and Pedro Martinez struck out over 12,000 batters between them. The four of them faced Tony Gwynn 330 times, collectively. He struck out against them three times.

Not MV, but I might suggest one of the best Yankees/Red Sox trivia questions is - What is the name of the play that Red Sox owner, Harry Frazee, financed by selling Ruth’s contract to NY?  

Bonus points if you can name that subsequent musical that was based on this play.

"No No Nanette" sticks in my mind...

Here's a Yankees-Red Sox trivia question...before the 1947 season, the owner of the Red Sox (Tom Yawkey) and the owner of the Yankees (Dan Topping) discussed trading Joe DiMaggio for Ted Williams, straight up.

Both players were emblematic of their teams. DiMaggio actually hit about .100 OPS better at Fenway than he did at Yankee Stadium, he could have played in the OF with his brother Dom.

Who called off the trade and why?
