One poster seems to believe that if N.D. had beaten Stanford last year we couldn't've won the Rose Bowl.
What I find odd is the level of... proprietary feelings these fans have. Whatever the appropriateness with respect to the players -- who get to go wherever they want, after all -- the weirdness of still condescending to Stanford is striking. How long does it take for reality to puncture their bubble?

One of my HS classmates ran on a full ride at USB. He's actually done quite well in life and enjoyed the hell out of his school. Another three were on full FB rides to South Central and hated it. And left to play at Santa Clara and State. To each his own. I think that most Cardboard posters are SU alumns and most Domer posters aren't. Entitlement wears many faces. LIke Jeff Garcia, Stanford for us was the ideal but our educational chops and family incomes couldn't hack it. My forty, now 55, year decision worked out just fine however.

It seemed to me that rather than being condescending now, they are wistful about the days when they could be condescending.

Stanford has been a football power since the prospective student athletes were in elementary school. They don't know much else. However, message board jockeys tend to be much olde,r and understand the lopsidedness of the rivalry. They may even remember the Holtz or even Parseghian eras.

It seems to be the main point of both posters is that Washington has to be perceived as an elite program again before they will start getting the Foster Sarells of this world. Probably true.

If Ruth Robbins is saying Sarrell to Stanford, safe bet to say he is farm-bound. Will Stanford be able to land both Sarrell and Little? I mean wouldn't both want to play LT?

We got Peat and Murphy the same year. Both got to play L tackle, too. Both got drafted by the NFL. So there is precedent.

He is listed as 6'4 252, seems small for a NT but if he's as strong and technical as Soloman Thomas he'll make it work

We (and everyone else) are recruiting him as a DE. He'd be a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE in our system.
