Drew Bowser throwing error in the top of the 5th (two outs!) results in the first run of the game. ASU puts another runner on first thanks to a Carter Graham fielding error, but ASU flies out, and Drew Dowd escapes the inning with minimal damage. I'm kind of sad I can't hear this game on KZSU.
[edit]: Drew Bowser fouls out to the catcher to start the 5th for Stanford, but Tommy Troy hits a triple on a 2-1 pitch. Eddie Park immediately hits his first pitch for a single, scoring Troy. Adam Crampton singles on
his first pitch, and Park reaches third. Runners on corners with one out, back in business!
[edit 2]: Brock Jones strikes out swinging, but Crampton steals second during Graham's at-bat. Graham walks to load the bases with two outs, and Brett Barrera (.369) is up...
[edit 3]: Barrera hits a grounder to the shortstop, who throws out Graham at second to end the inning. Alas.

After being down 1-3 in the middle of the 6th, Stanford has scored five unanswered runs. Two of them came just now in the bottom of the 8th, where, after an ASU pitching change, Kody Huff led off the inning by singling up the middle. Drew Bowser homered a 2-0 pitch to left center to score both aforementioned runs. Tommy Troy followed that up with an 0-2 single but was caught stealing during Eddie Park's subsequent at-bad. Eddie Park reached on a fielding error (nine pitches in his at-bat), but Adam Crampton hits into a double play, and the 8th inning is over.
Stanford leads 6-3 with only three outs left for ASU to do anything.
Quinn Mathews steps in to close out the game, but he walks his first batter and hits the second. The third ASU batter grounds into a double play, advancing a runner to third in the process. The count is 2-2 with two outs and a runner on third...
ASU strikes out swinging! Stanford advances :)

I think it some kind of celebration after each HR. I hope they sanitize it each time; would be a disaster if all the HR hitters came down with the same bug…

Does anyone know who the announcers were for today’s game? I joined the action late and, since I’m in the Chicago area, I don’t get many Pac-12 Network games.

My guess: Bat Man. Based on zero information.

I have it on my recording of the game. Should be on Youtube by Friday.

Pac-12 network announcers for the Stanford-ASU game were J. B. Long (play-by-play) and Ben Francisco (former UCLA and MLB player).
The other announcers working the tourney are Roxy Bernstein and Kevin Stocker (formerUW and MLB player).

I believe the story was that they do regular movie nights and everyone was inspired by (or loved) “The Dark Knight”… Alex Rios procured the mask, and started presenting it to anyone who hit a homer. (Sort of a nod to many MLB teams and their HR medals/cowboyhats/etc).

We’ve hit 3 solo HRs but Williams is missing high on most pitches. Hope he settles down.

No.
But all through the line-up, everyone is following his lead.
