Interesting comments to that tweet. All South Carolina fans., minus maybe one Stanford fan, all effusive about Stanford, but taking the position someone would be insane, so it really isn't even a possibility that someone might flip from South Carolina to Stanford. Far better programs than South Carolina have lost flipped recruits to Stanford.
Anyway, I'll ask the question that only ever matters here. Has Hilinski submitted a Stanford application and is he taking 2 AP classes this semester? Hard to imagine why he would be visiting if he wasn't seriously considering dropping the Cocks for the Tree.
Does 247 ever predict committed recruits de-committing?

You would know better than I would, but I would think that this is probably flipped. I doubt someone would be offered this late in the cycle unless they had done some work in the background to make admissions a possibility.
Hilinski had some unusual circumstances. His brother's suicide was in January; I imagine the prospect of going through college recruitment at that time might have been overwhelming, and it sounds like he made a commitment not long after. It would be entirely understandable if he decided to stick to South Carolina; on the other hand, it's quite a credit to him that he has continued to do the work to be in a position to land a Stanford offer, given the circumstances.

AP classes and test scores are the work. AP not needed for South Carolina and a high test score not needed either. Obviously he knows this well

I thought I’d read somewhere that he’d always wanted to go to Stanford. Here’s an article just written recently.
Orange Lutheran quarterback Ryan Hilinski got an offer Thursday that he's wanted for years. Stanford offered the 2019 quarterback who has been committed to South Carolina since April 4 and steadily climbed the Rivals rankings to become a top-100 recruit.
"This is the offer I’ve been working for since 6th grade," Hilinski messaged Cardinal Sports Report. "It’s crazy it’s finally come as late as it could come and I’m so honored!"

I doubt we'll beat a blue blood like Oklahoma but we have a serious shot at Archer since Cal isn't a big-time program and Archer has wanted Stanford ever since he was young.

It's not so much Stanford can't flip guys committed to blue blood programs, it's more that nobody ever chooses between Stanford and Oklahoma. Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, yes.
Caleb Kelly a couple years ago was only guy I can remember even maybe considering OU am deathly Stanford. Though Stanford ended up with Caleb Kelly, he is not the one offered by Oklahoma.

IIRC Chase Beeler was under some pressure to attend OU and had developed a relationship with the university president, David Boren.
And of course Barry Sanders Jr was an OSU legacy.
I think that John Winesberry was from Oklahoma, but know nothing about his recruitment.

Also, while I think the ultimate battle for Walker Little was with Texas, I would find it hard to believe that he wasn’t at least considering Oklahoma.

Chase Beeler attended Oklahoma as a freshman and then transferred to Stanford.
