Tucker seems to be quite a physical tackler with very good speed. It's always a concern moving a guy from up on defense to back, but Tucker appears ideally suited for Safety.

Yeah that's equivalent to a 1000 2 part SAT which probably isn't going to get it done even under today's somewhat relaxed admission standards. Oh, well, he'll have fun protecting Town's "Blind Side".

Class projection I am going to assume 24 spots available
1 QB - Chryst
3 RB - Marx, McCaffery and a power tailback I think Downs goes else where and we get someone who emerges in the fall
1 WR - Sims
1 TE - Schultz
3 OL - Hall, Tucker and Fanaika
4 DL - Thomas, Nifae, Phillips and a nose tackle prospect, probable someone who isn't on the radar right now
3 OLB - Leach, Dickerson and Holuba
3 ILB - Perez, Alfieri and Okreke
5 DB - Franklin, Simmons, Holder, Murphy and Tucker

- who is Sims? If we get a WR it will probably be Trevon Lee.
- I doubt we take a true NT in this class.
- I also don't expect them to offer another power RB if we can't land Downs.

Sims is a current commit from Washington. We took Nwafor in the 2012 class I figured we wouldn't go back to back years without a player there. I can't see Shaw going in to 2014 without a single scholarship tailback over 200 lbs that goes against the personality of the offense

I wouldn't be too certain about that. In the winter of 1998, on another Stanford board, a poster who was widely believed to be Anthony Bookman wrote that his SAT score was 960 and it wasn't the lowest on the team. And that would have been under the allegedly tyrannical admissions regime of Robin Mamlet.
That's why I used the term "probably". A lot depends, as gets pointed out here frequently, on how the rest of his application looks. Lots of A's in AP courses, great recommendations, great essay, and who knows? I wouldn't hold my breath, though, especially if the coaches are telling him he needs to take it again and he decides he doesn't want to.

NT really isn't a necessity, Parry could be back for a 5th year and we will return Nwafor, Hayes, and Callahan. And we don't play a true 3-4 so our NT only plays 30-40% of plays. So a lot of the time you have the DEs lining up as 4-3 DTs. And Brandon Fanaika could still end up at NT if needed.

Mamlet came around a few years after 1998. James Montoya signed my letter of admission, as I'm sure he did Bookman's.

To me Schultz seems like the Zach Ertz to Eric Cotton's Coby Fleener. Schultz isn't as fast or as athletic as Cotton but more well rounded. Hooper reminds me of Ryan Hewitt, a little smaller than the others but an excellent blocker.
