Bush was the first baseman on Yale's team that was runner-up to Cal in the first College World Series. Grandpa either played with Bush or against him. Possibly a first shaker for Cal?

Minneapolis Millers questions:
Tommy Heath managed Mays. He managed the Seals for a few years in the 50's.
Mays played with Hoyt Wilhelm and Negro League star Ray Dandridge. Both are in the HOF.

The only Yale coach I know is Ethan Allen who invented the board game All Star Baseball which I played for hours in the 50's.
One thing I do know about Bush is that he was shot down during a mission in the Pacific and was rescued by a USS. Some of the other downed pilots on the mission were captured and executed.

Smoky Joe Wood coached Yale for 20 years.
Former Yankee starting 3rd baseman and Dartmouth alum Red Rolfe was George Bush's first coach at the beginning of the 1946 season, but he was called back to the Yankees. He ended up coaching, not playing. Later, Rolfe was Dartmouth's longtime athletic director and also coached basketball for them.
Joe McCarthy took over for Rolfe after he left.
The former Giant who graduated from Yale was Hall of Famer James "Orator Jim" O'Rourke, who played for the Giants for six seasons, the first six seasons of the franchise. His playing career lasted 24 years.

All Star Baseball was a game loosely based on hitters tendencies. It came with a bunch of circular cardboard discs emblazoned with a players name and a 360 degree pie chart of boxed numbers signifying outs and hits. You spun a little pointer to find a number where the end landed. You could play a game in about 30 minutes.
For the elder crowd (Bobbbbbbbb) what was the name of the Cadeco/Ellis 50's football game with overlaid football plays and defenses? What was the name of the Tudor game with little guys who never seemed to run in the direction you wanted them to run? What was the name of the book by Robert Coover that dealt with a man who spent his non-working hours playing dice baseball?

Best board baseball game I played ( by a long shot) was APBA.

lol I did assume that Phogge would approve. The funny thing is that Darling was so dominant that even going 11 innings he didn't throw a crazy amount of pitches I believe.

Edit : Wrong. Although number is darn close. Kershaw (not the one) had more CGs than I thought. Still…. The numbers are generally pathetic.
