Dual-sport alert! Brock Jones will be on a baseball scholarship and walk onto the football team. He's a strong safety with the right size to fill out, and a low 3* on 247sports so a great profile for a walk-on.
Hopefully not the only good recruiting news of the day!

Big time baseball player. We shall see about football. Keep in mind baseball is a partial scholarship

w00t!
Nice homage to his grandfather!
Also, great to hear him say that he was "continuing his studies and football" at Stanford.

Rouse had an awesome offer list: Northwestern, ND, Duke, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio State and several others. He's only a three-star, but that's probably due to his modest competition at Sidwell Friends.

Yeah Notre Dame only offers 4*/5* for Notre Dame to consider him suggests that he's heavily underrated.

Which rating service are you talking about? According to 247 Sports ND has 6 commits who are 3*.

Maybe it was they only offer 4 and 5 star OL?

Well, none of the six 2019 three stars are OL. However in 2018 they had three OL commits who were three stars.

Another commit: 3* RB Nathaniel Peat, who is fast (won the Missouri state 100m with a 10.75), explosive, and has good receiving skills out of the backfield.

If you're going to recruit a really small RB, he better be jump off the screen quick and explosive. Peat doesn't do that. In fact, he kind of stands out for not being particularly quick and explosive. I guess this kills my Kenan Christon dreams.
Really would be nice for Stanford to land some bigger RBs. Woods looks like he can get up in the 220+ range, but Stanford hasn't had a big RB (225+) since what, Gafney? This said, Austin Jones does seem to have the frame to get bigger as well. Perhaps they see Peat as a slot receiver?

Good news!!
a few more solid commits, and i'll be satisfied with this year's class.

Just watched some highlights of him, he looked pretty quick and explosive to me.
Maybe not Bryce Love quick and explosive, but how many running backs are?

Love this commit. Short yes very quick very fast yes

How does he compare with the WSU running back who had some interest from Stanford, Max Borghi?

Check out Borghi on the Wazzu/U$C highlights where he runs over a Condom DB on his way to a TD.
Borghi actually had an offer from us, but decided to go to Wazzu. He said he fell in love with the place. Never been to Pullman, but from what I've heard that's not easy to do, unless you like wheat fields.

Peat is actually an excellent athlete -- had a 126 SPARQ score as a junior.

His offer list isn't very impressive. Then again, Matt Breida (NFL's current leading rusher) was the #186 RB in his class, and went to Georgia Southern as a 5-9 150 RB recruit.

Sounds like the second coming of Darren Nelson.

Didn't go to any camps since his sophomore year, so all his P5 offers are from local-ish Midwest programs who scout Missouri more closely - and Stanford.
