Who is the last pitcher to start 40 games in a season (clue: 1987)?
Who is the last pitcher to complete 10+ games in a season (clue: has only happened once since 2000)?

Bobbbbb... Hunt led the majors six times and the NL an additional time.
Minnie Minoso holds the record leading the majors nine times. He also led the AL an additional season.
Giants... has to be a knuckleballer. 1987? Wilbur Wood, Charlie Hough?
Most complete games... R.A. Dickey?

None of the above.
Clue: He was part of one of the worst trades ever made by the team acquiring him.

Thanks for the clue. The worst trade that I can think of is the Padres getting Tatis Jr. I think the White Sox but I can’t think of the Padre that Chicago received.

Just as an aside, I always thought guys like Cobb and Rose would do anything to get on base. Cobb never led the league, and Rose only led the league once, with the absurdly low total of 6 in 1980.

Bobbbbbbb made a good guess since Hunt has the season record, a phenomenal 50. Did it while we were working for the Giants. He would just stand there and not move on an inside pitch.

You got the trade. The pitcher that went from SD to Chicago was James Shields (11 CG’s in 2011).
His record with the ChiSox was 16-35 with a ERA of 5.31 in 2 1/2 seasons.

The DR is second to the US in producing MLB players, but they aren't the leaders on a per capita basis.

Curaçao?
Yes. Andruw Jones was the first MLB player from Curacao (debuting in 1996) - 15 more Curacao natives have made it to the majors in the next quarter century, from a country with a current population of 165,000.
Current MLB players from Curacao include Kenley Jansen, Andrelton Simmons, Jonathan Schoop and Ozzie Albies.

The PAC-12 requires that all athletic programs field football and men’s hoops teams. What is the only other men’s sport that is played by every school in the conference.

Track & field?
I know it's not baseball - my home state school (CU) regrettably gave that up about 40 years ago. I'm old enough that I had several HS teammates & opponents that played there.
