As noted, this game was a big deal to Arizona. The Arizona Daily Star had a good sized write up about it, linked below. And about two-thirds of the way down, Adia Barnes has some nice words about Tara.
Arizona Daily Star on UA vs UO - and Adia Barnes on Tara
Thanks to the link to the article. I found Barnes' comment very interesting, and particularly noted the bits about Dawn Staley and Tara -- that she singled them out and said not everyone was that way. Tara has a reputation of being supportive of other, especially women, coaches. She and Staley have a history together as well, from when Staley was the starting PG on the 1996 Olympic team that Tara coached -- I seen many very respectful and positive comments about Staley from Tara over the years.

UConn moves to #2 seed in Bridgeport Region. Michigan replaces them in the Spokane Region:

And Creme now has Baylor as the #3 in the Spokane region. Frankly, I hope he's right, that U Conn is not in the Spokane region. If Paige comes back in time for the tournament, U Conn becomes a legit threat. Adding Fudd to the line-up appears to have already made a brobdingnagian difference

I think that UConn will run the table for the rest of the regular season and the Big East tournament. Right now, Creme has 2 ACC teams as #1 seeds (Louisville and NC State). One of them will drop out. UConn could easily end up the #1 seed in Bridgeport.

I agree, that's very possible, even likely

Odd. The PaC-12 site just announced a newly scheduled Oregon-UCLA WBB game for Feb. 16, but labeled as "non-conference."
PAC-12

Apparently the forfeit counts for the conference standings and there is no makeup game for the purposes of the Pac-12, BUT the teams have elected to play a makeup game that will not count in the conference standings, but will count in the overall standings. All this due to the original decision by the conference that the lack of available players was due to injuries, not to COVID-19 issues.

Might have been discussed here before, but likely this is to make up the forfeited game (by UCLA) which won't count toward conference standings but will count as an NCAA game for NCAA tournament consideration.

Latest Creme Bracketology (Feb 8) has the following Top 16 pairings:
Bridgeport:
*********
1 NC State vs. 4 Texas
2 UConn vs. 3 Tennessee
Greensboro:
**********
1 South Carolina vs. 4 Notre Dame
2 Iowa State vs. 3 Indiana
Wichita:
******
1 Louisville vs. 4 Oregon
2 Arizona vs. 4 Oklahoma
Spokane:
*******
1 Stanford vs. 4 LSU
2 Michigan vs. 3 Baylor
Conference Breakdown of Top 16 Seeds
*******************************
Big 12 - 4
ACC - 3
Pac 12 - 3
SEC - 3
Big 10 - 2
Big East - 1
So UConn will most likely be #2 seed in Bridgeport after all. They should be at full force by that time, with a much-improved freshman duo of AZZI and DUCHARME to compliment BUECKERS. Woe to NC State....

So is the S curve right now?
1. South Carolina
2. Stanford
3. Louisville
4. NC State
5. Uconn
6. Arizona
7. Michigan
8. Iowa State
If the top seeds were to all advance to the Final 4, minus NC State (hard to bet against Uconn making the Final 4 with their current streak). South Carolina would play Uconn in a seminal and Stanford would play Louisville? There is another top 16 bracket reveal on Thursday this week so will get another glimpse of where the committee currently stands.

The current version of the brackets is very favorable for Stanford, although lurking in their Sweet 16 is a very dangerous and very athletic currently #19 Florida team, which edged current #14 LSU, routed current #13 Tennessee and defeated current #16 Georgia over the past two weeks.
In the Wichita regional, #1 seed Louisville potentially faces #2 seed Arizona in the Elite 8 phase, and I really like Arizona's chances in this one since they beat Louisville last November and they are much improved (although Louisville has gotten better, as well). So we might see an all-PAC 12 on the Stanford half of the Final Four national semifinals.

Possible LSU-Baylor match-up in the Elite 8, which would be interesting because of KM’s move to LSU but which I hope does not materialize because that would mean we have been knocked out.

Villanova 72 - UConn 69 -- lots of apparently deliberate UConn fouls at end and Villanova almost blew it, missing free throws, but they prevailed despite U Conn winning the 4th quarter by 10, and 29 points for Fudd in the game, 19 of them in 2nd half. Big difference was rebounding, 37-21 Villanova favor. Wish I could have seen the game, just was following it on ESPN gamecast and play by play. At any rate, predictions that UConn would run the table from yesterday to the end are now proved wrong. Hooray, another +1 for Tara over Gino.
Now . . . off to watch another game, Stanford/OSU, which I recorded while I was actually at the game. I think I'll skip the 1st quarter, though. That was ugly except for Cam's three baskets at the beginning.
