In an interview with The Athletic, Tara noted that: "...we've done things intentionally to keep people healthy, in terms of our training and how we practice. We don't go live. We have no male practice players. Our practices have been shorter. We're trying to keep everyone healthy so that we can play well here at the end."

One a totally rational basis, I might have voted for Lexie over Haley. Two factors would likely have changed my vote. First, Haley's late scoring was clearly pivotal in our victory against Arizona and, second, I just cannot get out of my mind those 7 (?) driving layups Lexie missed yesterday. It seems like she just doesn't completely "get" how to use the backboard on those shots. I hope she tries 10,000 of those shots with someone in her way over the summer. I think Lexie is a great player--absolutely no disrespect intended--but if she can get those driving shots to fall at a significantly higher rate, she will be a scoring machine.
I almost can't believe I will only get to see Lexie and Lacie play one more year for the Cardinal.
speaking of lexie, did anyone already post the all-final-four team? it's haley, lexie, bueckers, aari, and zia cooke.

One thing I’ve noticed is the outpouring of support and happiness among the programs alums. Chiney’s but was awesome, but it feels like they are all deliriously happy, and proud, and thankful, and relieved. It extends beyond mere pride for an alma mater, but a legitimate feeling like they are all still a part of the team, which is awesome.

Such great posts.. some summarize exactly some of my feelings.. I became a fan during the Old Dominion Final Four heartbreak season and have waited so long for this.. when it happened, I think I was too nervous and thought at the end... here we go again.. so it’s taken a while for it to sink in.. and as more time passes it’s starting to hit and WOW!!! They did it.. I want to see more!!!

During the tournament, I thought ESPN did a good job [<--- that's a phrase I don't often say] in reporting the Stanford WBB difficulties due to the Santa Clara County COVID restrictions, without expressing either a positive or negative opinion on the restrictions. I appreciated that. I expect that was a management decision that the announcers stay neutral.
By the way, the CDC Director has now suggested that Michigan consider restricting indoor, contact youth sports, per CDC recommendations.

When you say it appears as a long horizontal bar, that suggests that your are not able to access twitter.com or that your browser is configured to not do the things that twitter requires to insert its image. What I see when that post first appears is the long horizontal bar and then a second later, the tweet appears.
There are two steps in what is happening.
1) The server that gives us the CARDboard sees that the source post includes the [Xtweet] and [/Xtweet] delimiters and changes what it sends to your browser to allow for independent content (image, etc) to be inserted there. That is what you see as the long horizontal bar.
2) Your browser takes the URL (aka link) to twitter and gets whatever Twitter sends back and includes that in the independent part.
So, I'd suspect you are somewhere that doesn't allow network connections to Twitter.
Either that, or you have something like a adblocker that prevents this kind of insertion of data from a third-party site (twitter.com is a third party when you are viewing a thecardboard.org page).

Wild, thanks for an incredible article as others have mentioned. My involvement (and my spouse's) in Stanford WBB goes back even further. I accidentally found the 1990 final on CBS and was partially hooked. Had too much stuff with our children and work to get season tickets or even to go to LA for the 1992 Final 4. In 1993-94 took the children who were still at home to several games and the Regionals at Maples where we lost to Purdue. By now we were all in and purchased season tickets and joined the Fast Break Club. In 94-95 went to the Regionals in LA but had a major conflict and couldn't go to Minneapolis for the Final 4. 95-96 saw us at the Regionals in Seattle (wins over Auburn and Alabama) and a loss to Georgia in Charlotte. Starting with Charlotte we (or at least I) attended every Final 4 that Stanford was in up until this year. We were at many of the regionals but not all. Had lottery tickets for 1998 in Kansas City but sold them and went to the Finals in 1999 (San Jose) and 2000 (Philadelphia) even though Stanford was not participating. The hardest loss was the 1997 loss to Old Dominion. We commiserated with Kate Starbird's parents in the rain after the game (they were happy she wasn't injured). I never watched a replay of that game until a few months ago when I came across a YouTube copy by accident. Maybe it's the time passing but the fouls on Folkl seemed even less real. We were in Row M behind the bench and had really good views. I can understand how Tara has never watched it. Probably the most fun was the dismantling of UConn in 2008 as Wild has noted. While I knew we couldn't be at the games this year, the result was what we had been waiting for. The TV coverage (technical not the announcing) was superb but nothing like being there in person and interacting with all the fans. I have always been a basketball nut (grew up on the East coast in the 50"s with small Catholic men's basketball that ended each year with the NIT (NCAA was not the big deal it is today). What I did find out many years later was that my mother played basketball in the early 30's (she graduated from college in 1934). How the game has changed. I've gone on too long. Congratulations to Stanford and all the wonderful fans on this site and let's hope that the Cardinal can do it again next year. My spouse and I will certainly be there and hopefully in person.
