I'm an alum, but I guess I don't rate. I never got the survey. >:(

You have to have a certain minimum number of Cardboard posts to qualify.  Sorry.

Did you check all your inboxes and spam boxes...??  You certainly rate higher than I do.

Do they have your current email address?

I didn't check the spam box, but my Stanford correspondence rarely goes in there. I guess I'll have to check.

Would Condoleeza Rice get consideration?  She has academic background plus management experience.

she probably would be considered if she was interested, but I think there are a lot of people inside the University who would not be thrilled if she got the job.

I would say many, many such people.

Dear God please no.  He might make Janet Incompetano look competent.

I think a government/political job is very different than a University administrative job.  He ran Stanford's Physics department and was part of the successful launch of the BioX interdisciplinary program.  He's also run the Lawrence Berkeley National lab.

Like Condoleezza Rice, I think Chu's involvement as a cabinet member has made him a target of people who do not agree with the policies of the administrations under which they served (though they obviously served very different administrations).  It is worth noting that both of them have significant academic and administrative accomplishments outside of their government service, and that their political outlook should not be disqualifying for a position as University President.

Garvin must have been drinking (a lot) if he nominated me for president.  But yes, I did also get an email...I should fill out the survey at some point.
