Stupac...

I saw it happen in a UC game (Coach Holmoe got "confused").  Many suggest that he was perpetually confused on the sidelines.

Dag! Boston College doing what Stanford couldn't: abusing a young SC O-line. Making me sad all over again about last week's game.

I imagine that any minute now Pat Haden is going to parachute onto the field to demand to know why it took until the 4th quarter for BC to get its first penalty of the game.

There are not enough pluses in the world for this comment.  Also, I can think of about 20 Stanford sporting events that I would wipe out before last week's game.

Re: Around the P12 - cardcoug - 09-13-2014

Last week is definitely looking more like a Utah type upset than a heavyweight fight. And I'll take that, gladly. Our SOS is going to be good enough regardless of what happens (including with UCLA/Texas), so I say we just enjoy this, if it holds up.

Although I know that it would hurt our S. O. S., I would love to see SC get their asses beat tonight tonight.

I can't help feeling that way too, even though I know it would be bad for Stanford and the league. Some things just aren't rational.

on second thought, it doesn't matter whether or not SC losses. We have to win the rest of our games to make Rose Bowl and playoffs. If we win out, we will make the playoffs.

Re: Around the P12 - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

Texas up 17-13.

Re: Around the P12 - Farm93 - 09-13-2014

USC...Fight On..ce!

Took too much effort to fight once apparently.  I just wish Stanford got to play SC in October, and I now doubt they will meet in December.

Re: Around the P12 - 82 Card - 09-13-2014

UCLA up 20-17.

UGLY just scores a TD. If Hundley is out for a while, it looks like they have a more-than-adequate backup in Rick's son.

A nice throw, and maybe he'll grow into the job, but if 5.9 YPA is younger Neu's average game, UCLA will struggle to reach third in the Pac-12 South.

This is reminding me a bit of UCLA's 2005 season. They'll drop a few games before this is over, unless Mora conjures a big turnaround.

Re: Around the P12 - 82 Card - 09-13-2014

Big party on the field in Boston.

Re: Around the P12 - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

Colorado's playing ASU close -- it's 24-14

Re: Around the P12 - thunder_chik - 09-13-2014

Love that Troy has fallen to the BC Eagles...outplayed, held to about 20 yds rushing all night...

Re: Around the P12 - fullmetal - 09-13-2014

How did *Stanford* not beat U$C again?  I mean...go Eagles!

Also, Bruins escape JerryWorld with a win over Texas, 20-17.

Re: Around the P12 - Spiny_Norman - 09-13-2014

USC fans may learn what Washington fans know.  Sarkisian's UW teams came up with occasional big wins, but then they regressed to the mean.  Tonight the Trojans spit the bit.

I pulled this stunt when I was a captain of our CYO flag football team in fourth grade.

It was my last turn as captain.  (I thought it was all some elaborate historical ceremony and no matter what happened, whoever kicked off in the first half got to receive in the second.)

Re: Around the P12 - yvonne - 09-13-2014

Sometimes correlation is not equal to causation.

That was not one of those times.

U$C/BC - JohnR34231 - 09-14-2014

I always joke that my two favorite teams are Stanford and whoever is playing U$C. However, this was one time I was hoping for a good performance by the Condoms to make our loss to them look more respectable. Guess it doesn't really matter though.

Re: Around the P12 - Bruce Wang - 09-14-2014

While the $outhernCal upset hurts our strength of schedule, the tears of their fans more than makes up for it.

Re: Around the P12 - scorecard - 09-14-2014

It's amazing how much better you can sleep from one week to the next!  USC's wailing is such soothing white noise.

- Love Sleazy Steve's gigantic poo face while giving his post-game press conference about how badly they were outplayed.  Of course, he has had a lot of practice with this, after having to give the same press-conference while at the helm with Washington, after Stanford ran for 446 yards on his team in 2011, and then gave up 777 total yards (482 rushing) and 67 points against Baylor later in a bowl game that year.  I think UW fans also slept well last night.
- Pat Haden probably received multiple texts from Steve during the game ("Daddy, please make them stop", "Wasn't that a chop block?", "I thought we get 100 plays a game, they're cheating!"), but was unable to come to the rescue under his self-imposed 2 game ban from the sidelines.  Fake remorse is punished by karma.
- This tweet I came across somehow makes this image better for me: https://twitter.com/BASportsGuy/status/508387304004521984.  I thought Haden was a Rhodes scholar, not a rode scholar.
- BC starting 5 grad students on the o-line reminds me of being a freshman and playing intramurals, and getting our asses kicked by a Biz school team that was not as fast, but was way better organized and outschemed the hell out of us.  Shaw's quotes about football being won by upperclassmen ring true here.  Here's to hoping our hogs continue to season to perfection (and even more to hoping that Andrus Peat wants to come back and sit in the smoker for 1 more year)
