Where is the hustle? Cardinal look flummoxed right now and Dayton simply cannot miss.

I'll settle for a successful tactical adjustment right now. Dayton plays like a poor man's L'ville from last year. Aggressive, quick defense, capable of scoring from outside and inside.

This is pretty much who we are and have been all season. Maybe we now put together the best half of the season and win...or maybe we don't. That's this team's personality.

Infuriating! I feel like the trend of the game has been completely dictated by this. The refs just cannot decide how tight they want to call this game.

A progression to the tournament mean would be nice :p
A T on Dawkins is all I need to know about the refereeing here.

Dayton is playing very confident. They look like they belong.

Consider Dayton has almost double the points Kansas had at halftime. It is clear the pace is being played where Dayton wants it. Stanford's only chance is to control tempo and play tough man-to-man defense.
But the reality is Powell and Nastic can't defend without fouling out even in a zone. There is not enough front court depth to overcome this, and there isn't even another Guard option to effectively go small. When you also factor in getting nothing from the Pac-12's leading 3 pt shooter by percentage, a 10 point halftime deficit makes sense.
But as someone else pointed out, this is pretty much what Stanford has been all year - a flawed team marred by injuries.

Lack of rebounding is what's really doomed the Cardinal. Partly blame the foul trouble, consider the long bounce off the rim when Dayton misses a jump shot, but also know that Dayton is quicker and just seems to be on more of a mission than Stanford to crash the boards.
Massive rebounding advantage is how Stanford can get back into this game. Without it, this game is over with 10 minutes left.

and that's two defensive rebounds we gave up

Dear lord, this zone is just not suited for a team with a bunch of good outside shooters. Even the commentators are talking about it. Switch to man, please!

At this point, there's not much to lose to try going man.
