Re: NFL Playoff Thread - Nan3cy - 01-11-2014

I would love to root for Baldwin and Sherman, but that means rooting for Carroll and Lynch. So I root for the Stanford guys to have a good game in a losing cause. Not working very well today (at least the "losing cause" part).

What's wrong with rooting for Marshawn? Yes he went to kal, but the guy is a comedic genius in addition to being an incredibly gifted runner. I've been a fan ever since he came into the league. His segment with Kenny Mayne is necessary watching.

Quote:AGENT: OK, Sherm, you got drafted by the Seahawks.
SHERMAN: Nope.
AGENT: But you got drafted by them. You have to play for them.
SHERMAN: Nope. Not a traitor.
AGENT: *finds client interested in making money*

Yeah, not sure what Sherman could have done to appease is college coach in that one. It is interesting the Carrol has grabbed two ex-Cardinal guys who are grumpy about Harbaugh.

This Seahawks defense is just nasty. It's amazing the contrast between the NFC and AFC. All week in Boston, sports radio has emphasized that neither of the teams are going to bring tough defenses to the Patriots-Colts game. And the same is true in Denver. I think any team coming out of the AFC is going to get its bell run in the SB.

I don't think so.  I think the Broncos can take it.

Doug Baldwin with a great clutch 23-yard third down reception to effectively seal the game!

Re: NFL Playoff Thread - needle - 01-11-2014

I was wrong, actually. After Baldwin's catch, Marshawn Lynch ran it into the end zone from about 20 yards out, making it a 15-point game (with the extra point). The Saints scored and then recovered an onside kick with less than 30 seconds to go, but then ran out of time before getting anywhere close to the end zone.

If my Saints had to lose, I'm glad it was a Stanford player who excelled against us.  Sherman also played a great game, neutralizing Jimmy Graham for the entire contest.  And, a classy move by Sherman to help Colston up in the end zone after our second touchdown.

Next up, Stanford East!

Stanfordite, as a Seattle native and a Stanford Alum this game tears at me. I cannot stand Carroll but the more I hear from friends with the Hawks and in the business of being agents, the more I dislike how Harbaugh bad mouthed Sherman and other former players. To me, Harbaugh may be a traitor to the men who helped him rebuild the program.
