Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - Extra Point - 10-05-2013

UW secondary is much better than I thought. Hope Shaw has some second half adjustments.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - martyup - 10-05-2013

Why aren't we giving more touches to Gaffney?  Hogan is barely above 50%.  We need to make serious adjustments.  Strange game so far.  I'm not comfortable.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - martyup - 10-05-2013

Let's hope Skov is firing up the team in the locker room.  Whose house? C-House!

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - Card Fan in OR - 10-05-2013

Big TD before the half. Fine throw by Hogan. Hope it settles him down, but, the catch by Montgomery was absolutely stupendous.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - AthleticsDynasty - 10-05-2013

Do all of the ridiculous unnecessary defenseless roughness targeting yada yada yada penalties take the fun out of the game for anyone else?

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - Bruce Wang - 10-05-2013

Just saw that replay.  It didn't look like Montgomery looked back for the ball.  It just landed in his hands.  Let's pray that they stay in sync in the 2nd half.

No.  I'm very concerned about player safety.  If us, as mere spectators, have to sacrifice some excitement from the violence of the game to make the game safer for the ones that put their neck on the line, so be it.

No, but the wild inconsistency with which the penalties are called does.

I'm beginning to resent the woofing of this threads title.

In my life time of playing and watching football since I know that you can't play full contact football without helmet collisions, its just not possible.. The penalties aren't protecting anybody unless coaches start telling players not to block which obviously will never happen.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - FarmBoy - 10-05-2013

Now we just need the pattented Ed Reynolds/Trent Murphy pick-6 and we'll drain the clock with a heavy dose of Gaffney and the TWU.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - Kathy - 10-05-2013

Looks like Hogan has settled down.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - 82 Card - 10-05-2013

That last drive looked more like Stanford football.

In action on other screen during the drive, A's got walk-off singe after loading bases in scoreless game. GO OAKLAND.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - martyup - 10-05-2013

Feeling better now.  Settling down on O and D.  We're going to need to score plenty more to come away with a W.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - martyup - 10-05-2013

Strike that.  We just can't seem to get a bead on Price.  So many close to sacks.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - akCard - 10-05-2013

I can't decide if Shaw's obsession with runs up the middle (that mostly go nowhere) is either inspired play calling or obstinacy.

If he's doing it to lull the opposing defense to sleep, at which point he pulls out a big play, than it's inspired. If those kinds of plays are being run to prove that Stanford is tougher, well, he needs to find more blocking fullbacks a la Marecic.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - JohnR34231 - 10-05-2013

I think partially Shaw's runs up the middle are to set up other plays, and partially because he feels we will eventually wear the opposing defense down.  Is it going to work tonite? We'll find out shortly.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - Bruce Wang - 10-05-2013

TY is on a redemption mission.

Re: STANFORD GAMEDAY DOMINATION THREAD - 82 Card - 10-05-2013

That last TD looks like it was set up by the runs up the middle. Washington sold out in the middle allowing a slant outside right end of line.
