Students get in for free still, right?

Yes, but....
In the past few years the students would flock to this game because they needed to score loyalty points to get Big Game tickets. With Big Game in October there has not been the same forced loyalty incentive. Combine the lack of familiarity problem that exists with WSU and OSU within the Stanford community and then add in the lack of Big Game loyalty point incentives and you are left with a need for coupons and twitter messages.

Totally forgot about the loyalty points incentive structure. Maybe they should have these accrue toward bowl game seats or conference championship seats when applicable instead... :(

For fans in the Bay Area (or the Central Valley) I don't see why this game wouldn't be a big draw. Two ranked teams and Stanford in the Rose Bowl hunt. At the Figueroa Institute game the TV announcers said that the crowd noise might've been getting to the Barkmeister.

If I still lived in Palo Alto I'd be there. If I lived ten miles away I'd be there. If I lived 100 miles away I'd be there. Unfortunately the drive from La Jolla is just a little bit too much for me.
However, I call upon all readers who live within 60 miles to go to the game.

Every time I go to La Jolla I wonder why on earth (apart from housing prices) anybody lives in L.A. Years ago the spouse and I used to go for weekends at the La Valencia. Then it was an out-of-the-way place with us and a few old people in for the early bird dinner. Quite a bit different now. But still a paradise.
