I survived 20 straight losses at TCU as well as 3 consecutive shutouts and a monumental 82 to 16 blasting by Texas.  So, NDAMN, do your worst.

TCU once lost 20 straight?  I never knew that. It must have been pretty cool for you when they made the title game. And believe me, losing to Georgia even by half a hundo doesn't really count because......reasons.

I thought I became immune to losing any game after that 8 OT gut ripper. Turns out I was wrong.

So here is the thing with Stanford and Notre Dame at 12:30. The alternate slate is enticing. Red River, the not really Tech so don't call them Tech at Memorial, Real Tech trying to save its season against Duke in a hurricane, Pac12 at the time God meant games to be played  (UCLA in Eugene), Tulsa in Annapolis out of habit in a lost season, or taking my wife to the proposal spot for lunch to celebrate 36 years like she has "suggested" so she doesn't miss the Niner game on Sunday.

No way am I watching the entire beatdown game. Probably eating lunch on a beach near some of you.

Don’t know if this belongs here, don’t know if you can read it, and don’t know why it came in my inbox, but here’s Mike Dotterer’s substack post for tomorrow’s game.

I would have a lot more hope of an upset if a college-age John Elway was our QB on Saturday :-). However, Dot is right. Stanford has won some games nobody, including our team, expected to win. All one can do is compete. Sometimes it works out. Of course, Stanford has also lost a few games that nobody expected us to lose, including our team. Let's just hope that doesn't happen next week.

I never predict Stanford to lose, no matter how bleak the outlook.  26-24.  Did someone say, "Trap game"?
Weather should be perfect, 77-78 degrees.

None of the 5 foes this year for NDAM has gone over 100 yards rushing.
NDAM can rush three and blitz two all day.
I predict we are under 40 yards rushing at half

Turnovers are fatal.
We upset #1 ranked NDAM in 1990 at South Bend because of 3 of their fumbles on punts.
Vardell converted all three to TDs in the 36-31 comeback.

What is is over / under on Stanford punts?  Maybe 7.

IIRC, their punt returner got injured and it was the back up guy that fumbled the punts. Also their TE couldn't hang on to a catchable ball in the end zone that would have won the game for them.
I think we got a little help from the football gods on that one.

ESPN has ND at 99% chance of winning.
So they’re saying we have a chance!

I think Jim Carrey had a better chance...
